Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks tomer. Cloudy golden. Aroma of stale hops, a bit fruity, a bit yeasty. Slightly sweetish flavor, a bit malty, with some hops, somewhat stale, with some fruitiness, a bit citric, and a finish with decent bitterness. Medium-bodied.

12fl oz bottle @Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. Pours hazy dark gold with some white head. Some head retention, poor lacing. Malty, wet hop aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is quite bitter, some dry, malty, some subtle caramel flavours. Balanced and enjoyable.

Amber with a very large frothy tan splotchy lacemaker. Aroma is dusty and floral with pale toasted malt. Taste trumps aroma with caramel, earthy and floral hops, bready malt and a sweet and moderate bitter conclusion.

Bottle: mostly opaque, cloudy amber with a weak, small, gray-tinted head that sits on top, thin & soapy without much action. Aroma is muted; herbal, white pepper-y hops, slight cat pee, a touch of pine, mild hop oil, a hint of grapefruit, & some sticky caramel notes. Taste is slightly watered down with herbal hops, white pepper, mild ash, some pine, light grapefruit peel, & a big caramel & toasted bread, malt finish. The lesser of the Crooked Tree variants. Decent, but nothing to write home about.

Healthy tap pour - golden/copper with a decent white head that holds on for a while. Aroma is generally sweet and hoppy and nicely balanced - the hops are hard to get a handle on...some grassiness, resinous, and a bit of tropical fruit in there as well...my first experience with this hop varietal, and I’m not sure what to take away...not bad stuff though. Flavor is sweet early with a turn to the bitter side, but not so much to keep this from being an easy quaff. Caramel malt, then the piney/resinous hops kick in, but there’s that fruit again. Palate is oily and easy drinking. Good brew overall, I actually enjoyed this a decent amount.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2014 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky caramel-tan color with a medium sized soapy-creamy orange-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy with notes of pine, fruity hops and a bit of tropical fruits. The flavor was bitter and tart pine with touches of tropical fruits and dust. Medium length bitter pine and tropical fruit finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle. Light coppery colour with an off-white head woth good duration. Resins hops in the aroma with light notes of citrus and malts. Flavor has a strong bitterness, resins notes, pine and grapefruit. Strong bitterness in the final, dryness and high astringency.

Bottle:   Dirty straw, a little muddy and dark, hazy, thin to moderate sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Somewhat of a aromatic, yet stale and musty hop nose.   Some aspects remind me of faint whafs of model airplane glue, others a earthy/soilly mountain shrub like floral note.   A bit more entertaining on the tongue.   More citrusy, with that shrubby aspect.   The model airplane glue is not present.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Does have a very shrubby, slightly earthy/soily presense on the finish.   Tiz okay, but not sure I am a fan of the FF hop.   Thanks Kevin!

tap at Black Sparrow on 5/11/13 - Pours hazy orange and has a fairly mild, citrusy aroma. The flavor has good, crisp bitterness and a basic, mild malt profile. It’s medium bodied with a crisp, bitterness finish. This beer is quite good though maybe lacks complexity.

Bottle. Pour is a nice brownish gold with a medium-sized head and aromas of lemon peels. Flavor is light and refreshing with a cat pee and lemon hoppiness to it that is clean and balanced. Not sure if I really get into this beer or not, it seems kind of boringly middle-of-the-road IPA, but definitely a cool concept.
