3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rustico, Arlington tap: Pours a black color with a brownish head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, dark coffee, and a tiny bit of smoke. This is hardly a smoked beer. It more just has smoky aspects to it. Nice roasted malt flavor. Quite bitter. Not thick but substantial. Bitter coffee aspects. Some dirt and ash. Dark chocolate.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Near black pour with ring of light brown head. Smells of chocolate and peat, but no real smoke in the aroma. Flavor has slightly more smoke, but its more of a smoked peat / scotchy note. Honestly, if it hadnít said smoked on the label, I would have just said this was a great stout with a faint smokiness to it. But itís really not all that smokey.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Rasmus, 10 / 6 2013. Pitch black, with small tan head that disappear fast. Aroma, roasted malts, chocolate, smoke, . Taste, smokey roasted malts hits hard at first, some chocolate, dry bitterness from the roasted malts in the aftertaste. Too much carbonation. I prefer the limfjords porter to this.

Black pour with a reddish, dark tan head. Aroma of tobacco, smoke, coffee, chocolate. The flavor is a bit sweeter and more balanced. Lots of chocolate, a nice bit of smokiness, but nothing overpowering. Very nice beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smokey oats and chocolate coffee aroma. It is black and beautiful. Taste of sweet malt and soy, like the good jerky you get in the countryside. Not profoundly smokey like a smoked lager, instead it is a complimentary element. Should be reclassed as sweet stout. Thick and oily. Another winner for Dark Horse.
