Papsoe (25085) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 28, 2007
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours completely opaque black with a small, light brown head. Very burned, ashy nose. Medium body where the very burned ashy malt accents reappear - but the smoke can hardly be detected. Has a touch of tartness, probably from the malts. Some malt astringency. 270607

Black color; brown generous head. The aroma shows chocolate, roasted malts, cereals, milk, bread, light dust, very light phenol, but no trace of smoke. Good chocolate flavor, with a fair share of roasted malt and light smoke; the mouthfeel seems quite dry because of the roastedness; the body strength is average; there is a light liquorice touch too. The final is well balanced, still with chocolate and roasted malt. Pleasant without excellence.
