On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Hazy straw body, thin creamy off-white head. Light, sweet nose with light fruits, primarily white grape and pear. Soft body with light sweetness, white grape, hints of honey, and a grassy bitterness. Hints of alcohol.

Sampled at the GTMW pre-party at the Tipsy Cow. Golden pour with a white head. Aroma of grain, crisp hops, mild sweet malts. Flavor is nice. Subtle hops balancing a sweet malt component. Lots of bread dough and floral hops. Great example of a kolsch. Dark Horse is an excellent brewery.

On tap at GTMW. Poured hazy medium orange with a nice cap of white head. The aroma picked up a lot of honey and crusty bread with fresh floral and earthy hop accents.. just a tad sweet for the style, but good stuff. The flavor found bread and honey again, this time surrounded by lemon zest and floral bitterness.. crisp.. still a touch on the sweet side, but delicious. Lighter-bodied on the palate.. just a little too sweet to be really refreshing.

Draft at Great Taste. Referred to as a Polish Kolsch. I think this was actually a serious beer from Dark Horse. Gasp! Pours a deep gold with a sticky white head. Much more robust than a true Kolsch, has some toasty malts and a strong cracker character to it. Light hopping of the noble variety. On taste, clean bitterness and well fermented with some nice light fruity notes that round this one out. Solid.

Tipsy Cow Friday night pre-GTMW. Hazy golden color. Aroma of musty malt, some light hopping. Mild honey, pale malts, mild citrus, and light herbal-like hops. Somewhat rustic. A little thin, but refreshing.

Served on draft at the Tipsy Cow in Madison, WI at the GTMW pre-party. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet pale malts and grassy hops. The taste is toasted malts, nutty notes and grassy hops. Medium bodied. Nice kolsch.
