2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis. Pours a hazy, dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Spicy, grainy, oaty, chex mix, a touch fruity aroma. Tangy, grainy malty, cereal, quite spicy, light blood orange appearance. This wasn’t all that bad but everything about it didn’t seem like a Kolsch.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a murky orange-brown color with a very thin off white head. Aroma: Cider, caramel, and toast. Taste: Heavy malt flavors, with tones of caramel, raisin. Bitter, earthy finish. Slick texture with lively carbonation. Different, but not sure this combination works.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler fill from Whole Foods Short Pump. A "Polish" Kolsch? I suspect, based on how so not a Kolsch this is that the name may be some sort of joke. So let’s entirely ignore the claimed style since this isn’t BJCP after all. Light to medium hazy amber. Aroma is light caramel and faint butter. Flavor is light caramel, some spicy bittering hops, and then a can of creamed corn. I’m calling DMS here, and I usually am not even that sensitive to the stuff. Yikes. Not unpleasant, ultimately, but not that great a beer either. Too bad.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle. light brown with small head. very dark for a kolsch with substantial malt and not as much hop crispness in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle with a smiling Mel Brooks on the label) Pours a rusty brown color with an off-white head. Aroma of musty lager yeast, light raspberry, and crackers. Taste is quite sweet with plenty of iced tea character, prune, and a crackery finish. A little bit of a mineral quality slides in and provides some dryness. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is fairly sprightly. Overall this is somewhat of a strange beer, but it’s oddly drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark, opaque brown, with some chunks of sediment in the bottle. Lager yeast aroma. Bitter hop and grain flavor, with a palate that is a little heavy for the style, a thick kolsch. It is not a bad beer, even if different to style, and what is a Polish style kolsch anyway?

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours cloudy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Some light spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of apples, pear, caramel, toast, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and light earth. Ok aromas but they were fairly weak and unbalanced; possible fermentation issues due to apple in aromas. Taste of pear, caramel, toast, biscuit, grass, floral, apple, and light herbal spiciness. Light spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruit, caramel, toast, biscuit, grass, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a short bit. Fairly dry on the finish. Pretty good flavor balance and complexity; no cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and slightly crisp mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Very easy to drink as expected. Overall this is an ok brew. Definitely not a kolsch, but has some decent flavor and balance. Pretty enjoyable.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. This is terrible. Murky reddish brown pour with almost no head. All I get out of this is cold vegetable soup. Maybe a bit of spice in the nose. Drain pour.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Milltown. Turbulent and lightly hazy amber pour with two fingers of sticky sandstone tan head. Much darker than a standard kolsch. Malt dominant nose and flavor, spicy hop character and a definitive toasted malt character and malt sweetness. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light bitterness.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a clear deep gold with a slight amber hue and an off-white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a lot of sweet grains with a bit of earthy grass with a cookie note as well. Flavor is easy to drink with some light sweet grains and grass with some popcorn and cookie in the finish.
