Opaque dark brown beer, few tan bubbles for a head. Palate is smooth with low carbonation. Tangy dark malts, smooth. Juicy mild bourbon. Traces of vanilla and dark chocolate. A touch of spice before the smooth finish. Not bad but it lacks something I can’t quite place.

chinchill (1867) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 16, 2013
On tap in the VIP room at the brewery. Aroma: very appealing and nicely complex. Some dark fruits and toffee. Taste: rich and complex; slightly sweet; hint of oak barrel aging. Lightly and appealingly boozy (otherwise high ABV is fairly well hidden). M - Fairly full body; medium-low, soft carbonation. O - Superb:rich and complex yet easy to drink.
