On tap at the brewery. Pours Amber with an off-white head. Citrus aroma. The flavor is well balanced with orange pith and resin notes. Smooth mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Overall this was a good drinkable IPA.

Bottle at home from www.beer-shop.gr. Basically it’s Dark Horse’s Crooked Tree IPA using only Apollo hops. I bought it for sampling reasons in the first place, but it was a good choice after all. Small creamy off-white head, diminishing a bit after pouring into glass. Good lacing. Heavily particulate, cloudy body, dark amber to orange color. Average bread, cookie, caramel, toffee character. Dominant hop character, revealing herbal, flower, citrus peel, orange and lemon aromas. Hints of toffee, caramel and butterscotch taste. Light sweetness. Leaves a salty mineral finish, and dry/lasting hoppy aftertaste. I’m glad I gave it a shot.

(Dark Horse Ollopa Eert Dekoorc) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a tulip, ABV 6.5% Dark golden orange colour on a clear body, tall and thick off-white head, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing behind. Grassy hops on the aroma, apples, bubblegum, weak aroma but smells nice. Taste is nothing extreme, drinks good though. More apples especially on the finish, maybe some pineapple. Pretty faint flavour all in all but there is something in there that makes you go back for another sip. Mildly bitter with good duration on the aftertaste. Medium body, carbonation towards the low side. Okay I’d say.

Smells of floral hops, pine, slight alcohol, roasty and woody. Very mild flavor profile this can be expected of single hop spin-offs. The Sweet and bitter are both quite delicate and struggle to mask the abv. Appearance is opaque gold, great really glad that dark horse did the IPA sampler. Edit: please take the time to upturn your bottle and gently dislodge the yeast sediment that had accumulated on the bottom of the bottle, this really defines my experience.

Bottle 355ml): Served in a Shaker at 13 degrees Celsius: Small creamy head. Hazy amber colored beer with some chunks floathing. Aromas of hops, gruits, hop fruits, light caramel, some herbs and a creamy tint. Flavours of hops, hop fruits, grapefruit, apricot, light mango, bitters, herbs, grass, some yeast, light dust. Pretty tasty! Aftertaste is a mix of grass, hops and herbs with a very light fruity edge. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than medium bodied.
