Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2015. Pours a clear amber gold with an off-white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a bit of onion, with a light of grass, a touch of pine and earthy grains backing. Flavor has notes of bread and earthy grass with touches of onion and pine.

Light amber, big soapy bubbles/foamy light head, good lace, no yeast pour. Low aroma, mineral, slight floral, big disappointment. Taste is medium light sweet toffee malts, some hop citrus, very slight fruit. Tastes like a malty ipa. I donít know which single hop ipa is more disappointing, I guess this one because it seems the yeast gives a soy sauce beef jerky vegetable thing to this beer, this one doesnít as Ive poured it off the yeast, yet there is next to no hop character. Moderate bitter, more of a neutral hop with a more malty than average character. I think their labels are kind of messy, their artistic expression is somewhat interesting but sloppy

Hazy dark orange to copper pour with a tree finger, creamy to chunky off white head. Aroma is bright citrus, big pine, guava, under ripe melon, light caramel, biscuit, bread, sweet grass and a hint of strawberry banana puree. Flavor is caramel, sweet cereal, biscuit, toffee, dull melon, bitter citrus, sharp resinous pine and a little passion fruit. Medium body, creamy to syrupy entry, syrupy to dry middle, medium sharp carbonation and dry finish with a decent hop acid bite. Good stuff overall, very piney without being to sharp, harsh, or dry.

Oh ho ho, by naming these beers backwards, Dark Horse has made them sound like they are some crazy Necronicon shit. Eat your fucken heart out, HP Lovecraft! You can go on w/ your nearly unreadable but oddly enduring horror stories and the mad brothers at Dark Horse can take care of naming the beers. Regardless of nomeclature, this is a pretty solid IPA, with a nice hop profile thatís maybe a bit too sweet for my tastes. Itís orange in the glass, quite cloudy w/ a foarmy head. The apollo hop isnít very aggressive in terms of bitterness which makes for a nicely drinkable beer w/ tutt-fruity tropical fruit notes and some floral and pine notes around the corners. This is a solid beer overall but nothing jumps out at me as particularly vibrant or great. I can take it or leave it I guess. Also, it took me like seven tries to spell out Crooked Tree backwards so I had to venture to the dark corners of my soul to find it in the database.

DRAFT at Bad Apple in Chitown. Pours orange/yellow with thin head. Nose is mild hops. Pineapple and Citris...some pine in there as well...very good; good match with juicy burger.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, dark orange fading to an opaque amber at the center of the glass. Some flecks of yeast visible at the edges. Aromas of sweet tropical fruit, caramel malt, some alcohol. Tastes similar. A heavier malt flavor than I would prefer. Moderately bitter. Medium bodied, average carbonation, bitter finish.
