COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Number one in a series of five stouts produced for the fall and winter seasons. This beer is full bodied with hints of chocolate, roasted barley, coffee flavors and a nice creamy head.

Coffee, chocolate and port aromas, black, small cappuccino head. Rich coffee and dark chocolate taste, bitter top to bottom. Terrific! Thanks mds.

Thanks to artusory. Deep brown body with light, swirling carbonation and an oily tan head. Aroma of deep-roasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, plums, and some noticeable alcohol. Sweet malt and oats initially, followed by substantial roast and hop bitterness. Nice, thick, complex sugars on the palate. A solid oatmeal stout overall.

Pours a dark caramel with no head. Smells of burnt coffee, bitter sweet chocolate, and alcohol. Tastes similar with lots of funky paper, fruit esters, and vegetables. Mouthfeel is way too thin.

Up front this has a pretty sweet coffee and chocolate aroma. Pull the glass back and there’s a lot of alcohol. Dark brown/black color with no head. This has the thinnest body of any big stout I’ve ever had. Flavor is dark chocolate and coffee and a little alcohol. Disappointing.

initially the aroma rocked, but then it was more and more alcoholic. pretty imp stoutish at first. taste comes on strong with alcohol but has no real depth. kinda a lasting tackiness in the finish.

Bottle: Pours black, dark brown edges, thin brownish head, dies quickly, spotty lacing.   Soft lactose sweetness on the nose, subtle roasted malts, a touch of charred wood or campfire.   Very soft roasted malt tongue, slightly dry, minor bitterness, with an even softer lactose sweetness.   Fairly light, and not as sweet as others.   Definitely clean, but perhaps a bit more bitter and less sweet than what I am use to.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, almost nearing the thin side in fact.   Decent, if a bit light.   Needs to be turned up a notch.   Very middle of the road in my opinion.   Thanks jtw for the bottle!

Dark but could be darker, heavy but could be heavier. Sweet with roasty bitterness and watery-coffee flavor underneath it all, a coffee flavor that could be stronger. Never thought I’d say this about a beer, but it needs more of what’s already in it.

Thanks to the DS crew for sharing this. Pours a dark brown, small dark tan head. Small dots of lace. Aroma is creamy and sweet, easy to smell and alluring, light coffee, chocolate, nips caramel candy (the coffee kind) Flavor is sweet chocolate oats, smooth easy to drink with an oily mouthfeel, and bitter finish. Tasty Stuff.

12oz bottle acquired in trade. Poured a dark black with an averaged sized brown head. Aromas of lactose, roasted malts, dark fruits, vanilla, caramel, and some nuts. Tastes of roast, dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, and some nuts. Alcohol content well hidden (just a slight alcohol warming on the end). Medium bitter finish.

Bottle. Another monster stout from these guys. Pours black with a brown head that fades quickly into a film. Burnt chocolate and heavy roasts dominate the nose along with hints of dark fruit. Charcoal, heavy roasts, slight alcohol all intermingle throughout the taste. Finishes with a good lingering bitterness. Now I am going to have to start driving 3 hours to stock up.
