Number one in a series of five stouts produced for the fall and winter seasons. This beer is full bodied with hints of chocolate, roasted barley, coffee flavors and a nice creamy head.

Rated 3/20/13. 12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a black color; the pour itself looks quite dark and viscous. The head is a one finger light tan shade. It fades relatively quickly, leaving only minute lacing on the glass. S: I definitely get a decent amount of oats on the nose, backed by a ton of roasted barley. Hints of chocolate, vanilla, and licorice are also present. Good, if muted. T: There’s a mild smoked quality to the opening flavors that I find intriguing. Afterwards, it develops a dominant note of licorice with tones of coffee and vanilla on the finish. Moderately enjoyable, but the flavors could use more singular distinctness; they all seem to blend together. M: This one is surprisingly heavy on the palate, backed by a good silky smoothness and tons of lingering flavor. If someone called this an imperial stout, I wouldn’t think twice either way. Despite the score, I really love the texture here - but the problem is, it doesn’t match up with the mellow flavors particularly well, so I can’t give a great score here. O: Nothing amazing, but it’s a solid offering. It kind of reminds me of a mediocre imperial stout, and that’s actually a compliment in this case.

Superb full bodied brew for such a low ABV. Usually I like intense hard hitters, but this one is soooo smooth, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, some pine hop kick. MOderate to light sweetness with moderate bitterness Bomb

Sweet and rich aroma. Bit empty in the end that is unexpected. Foam also not that rich. Otherwise decent.

Barwa ciemnobrązowa. Piana beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, niezbyt obfita, dość szybko opada. W aromacie dominuje czekolada, czuć też kawę i ciemne owoce.

"pol-slodki". fajne piwo

Pours black color, slightly haze, with light brown foamy stable head. Visually low carbonation. Aroma: intense dark malts aroma, with notes of espresso coffee, cocoa nibs, slightly roasted and smoked, supported with hop aroma, which takes on dark fruits. Flavor: as Aroma reveals, prevails dark malt flavors, which takes on roasted, espresso coffee, cocoa nibs and hint of smoked in finish. Malt flavor is supported with hop flavors, which takes on dark fruits. Finish is sticky dry and slightly bitter. Bitterness lingers long in aftertaste. Body is full, texture is creamy smooth, carbonation is low. Another great dark beer brewed in this absorbing Brewery...
