3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Wow, if ever there was a beer that gained from being let warm up. At first this seemed harsh and boozy, which of course doesnít make too much sense. Decent aroma, on the roasty chocolate side, as it warms the mouthfeel and flavor improve. Pretty decent. How does it compare to Kalamazoo or something like that? Well, Iím not totally sure-Iím not sure why this is in the sweet stout section.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle poured into stout chalice. Black and opaque with a two finger tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is molasses, cocoa, coffee, and roasted malt. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, coffee, malt, and chicory bitterness. Medium body, thin texture, lively carbonation for a stout, and an astringent finish.

12oz bottle from The Beer Shoppe (Ardmore PA). Shared with Bob F. after work. Pours black with a small foamy dark tan head.
Aroma and taste mimic each other with burnt malts, dark chocolate, vanilla cream, and light caramel notes. Liked this one a lot! Solid stout!
