This one has a huge coffee aroma nothing else even comes out on this nose. The flavor is coffee thru and thru as well. It has a medium to light feel in my mouth with light carbonation.
This is a great drinking coffee brew. This brew works, a great concept of combining the doppelbock and coffee. I hope others take there lead.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 29, 2010 Pours a nice dark color, with tan head that recedes quickly. The aroma is pure coffee, nice chocolate undertones as well, impressive. The taste is a quick rush of coffee, with a lot of carbonation, followed by a long bitter/sweet malty finish with some coffee stuck on the palate. Some notes of soy, but overall decent and interesting brew. matthewjk (96), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Dark Horse does this well and they actually used good coffee. This brew has just the right amount of bitterness with some sweet malts for balance. Sort of surprised not to see this rated higher. This is good stuff! phaleslu (696), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2010 12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours a hazy plum-brown color with a small tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is mostly roasted coffee, with some tobacco, smoked wood, caramel, and vegetal notes. The flavor is unsurprisingly also led by coffee, but I quickly picked up on a strong note of tart cherries, and then some caramel and toast later. The tartness was a nice offset, and helped a non-coffee drinker like me. Light-medium bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a gritty mouthfeel. Cool labels- I’ve seen both in the Cincy area- and a cool beer. boFNjackson (1382), Portland, Oregon, USA

Poured amber with an off-white head. Coffee nose. Flavors were tart with berry-like fruits and funky notes. Almost like it could’ve been infected. vtafro (639), , New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 10, 2010 Draft @ Capone’s. Brown pour with tan head. Coffee fills the nose. Caramel, sugars, and some hops but flavored dominated by coffee. Nice. arminjewell (354), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2010 Pours dark brown/almost black with thin tan head. Aroma is full of coffee with a bit of caramel/sugar sweet. Taste is totally coffee, almost like drinking coffee grounds, with a bit of smoky malt ending. Overall a bit too much coffee (never thought I would say that) and could use a bit more malt to balance. 5000 (2909), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Bottle:   Rich caramel color, hazy, thin sudsy beige head, spotty lacing.   Rich coffee beans on the nose, otherwise somewhat of a heavy sweetish malt presense.   Sweet malty tongue, quite coffee oriented.
Warming on the back.   Not as malty as I thought it would be.   Remains somewhat sweet start to finish.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Warming finish.   Could stand to be a bit maltier as the coffee does dominate a
bit.   Not out of balance, still quite good, just could stand to be more of a Doppelbock instead of a coffee flavored lager.   Thanks Chris!
