It's big and full bodied with lots of roasted malts and balanced with heavy hops to put this imperial in a league of its own.
Previously known as Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

Pours black with virtually no head or lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and some woody notes. Taste follows the nose perfectly, which is a good thing. Medium to full bodied stout with not much carb. Finish has a warm boozy taste and feel to it. Very good.

On tap at the brewpub. Black pour with a great boozy aroma. Dark roasted malts dominate the flavor with just the right amount of hoppiness. Great stout.

I’ve had this more than enough times through trades. I guess I better say something. This was poured in a pint glass twice but also poured this into a snifter for shits and giggles for those uppity type people. Here goes. Oh yeah, there’s no difference. The appearance was a nice dark brown close to black color with a decent one finger white to off white color that ends up leaving a decent amount of lacing gracing the sides of the glass. The smell had a decent amount of roasted malts invading a slight under current of coffee to chocolate tones. The taste had a decent amount of alcohol notes to it with a super nice sweet almost bourbon-like aftertaste leaving a nice dry sweet finish. On the palate, this one sits about a medium on the body and honestly doesn’t really have much any sessionable quality to it. The carbonation ends up being fairly smooth. Overall, I say this was a pretty good Imperial Stout well worthy of having again.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Nearly black. Thin halo of tan head. Roast malt. Leather. Burnt rubber. Blackcurrant. Dark chocolate. Taste is burnt sugar sweet. Woody dry. Thick, fruity bitterness. Palate is big and chewy. Slick and oily. Numbness kicking in soon. Finish is chewy bitter. Great big beer. Great big easy to drink.
