COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It's big and full bodied with lots of roasted malts and balanced with heavy hops to put this imperial in a league of its own.
Previously known as Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

Bottle to beer tulip. Pours completely black with a creamy brown head. The aroma is boozy and chocolatey and has hints of coffee and vanilla and roasty malt. Taste is creamy chocolate and booze and roasted coffee. The finish is slick and smooth. This is a damn fine imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A few weeks ago when visiting the Dark Horse brewpub, a staffmember informed me that they would soon be brewing their very first attempt at an Imperial Stout. After licking my lips in anticipation, I vowed to my fiance that we would be making a trip back to aquire a few growlers of the stuff. Well, imagine my excitement when just as I plopped several various DFH brews on the counter of a local beer store, the owner wheeled in, fresh from the brewery, cases of the aforementioned unction. So, I grabbed a six and left with a smile. It rolled out of the bottle thick and dark with a dirty brown head. I could definitely smell and taste the alcohol sting along with the rich malt flavors. A true Imperial Stout. Thanks to Dark Horse for having the balls to brew something that casual drinkers would sooner put in their car engines than pour into a pint glass. I love this beer.

Coffee and dark cholkad in taste but also fills out the taste with hints of soy. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Have got a tip that this beer will be really good but I’m not impressed by this beer though. OK, but not more. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle at home. Pitch black, brown creamy head. Mocha, milk chocolate, leather, vanilla, ripe fruits, alcoholic warmth, a little smoky. Bitter, roasted, fruity and sweet: complex stout! Not too dry aftertaste, that keeps lingering on sweet chocolate and coffee. As it warms the chocolate and coffee tones get more bitter and astringent. Medium carbonation, big body, creamy soft (!) mouthfeel. One of the best beers I’ve tasted.
