3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This one was quite a few years old and a lot of the hops have pretty much faded away, but I got a lot of burnt malts with some dark fruits and a little bit of metallic taste. There was still some bitterness and hop presents though. Will have to try fresh and re-rate.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Look: pours a dark black. No light showing through. Dark brown when being poured fades to a light brown. Thick lacing.
Smell: chocolate. Cocoa powder. Oatmeal with brown sugar. Cappuccino. Bandaid.
Taste: muted coffee. Roasted malts. Chocolate on the back. Muted barrel flavors. Hint of bandaid. Infection?
Feel: thick mouthfeel. Medium low carbonation.
Overall: terrible beer. Looking forward to this for over a year and extremely disappointed. Not sure if it infected but not a big fan.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled from a bottle bought at Champanes,
this beer had a dark brown, black pour and gave a half finger to finger’s worth of a dark bubbled cover, it receded to a ring and some islands, this drink left nice spots of lacing on the glass, there was a layer of dark brown-black sediment on the bottom of the bottle, which is typical for most Dark Horse beers,
the nose had nice aromas of chocolate and dark chocolate with roasted malt, a little coffee and roasted malt bitterness, molasses like notes and sweetness,
the flavor had more roasted malt and roasted malt bitterness than the nose let on to, there was some dark chocolate and chocolate with coffee, brown sugar, caramel and some molasses sweetness,
the finish had roasted malt bitterness and a little astringency that left little to no sweetness on the mouth, and lingered on the tongue,
this drink was creamy, it had average carbonation and was sort of full on the lips, there was a little alcohol warmth on the palate,
this was a nice roasted malt imperial stout with chocolate, a good drink.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
OCZY : piwo jest czarne jak smoła. Piana piwa jest malutka o kolorze brązowym. Średnio trwała.
NOS : aromat piwa jest złożony i głęboki. Mocne nuty czarnej czekolady podkreślone delikatnie alkoholem. Do tego wanilia, wędzone węgierki. Po wstrząśnięciu wyłażą na wierzch nuty owocowe, śmietankowe i orzechowe. Troszeczkę podobne gdzieś w tyle do coca-coli.
Delikatnie popiołowy i czekoladowy. Ogólnie piwo wypełnia smakiem ale nie pozostawia nieprzyjemnego posmaku popielniczki jak czasami bywa w tym stylu.
ODCZUCIA : warto spróbować. Należy na pewno do tych lepszych RISów. Bogate i głębokie.
smak : 9/10
pijalność : 4/10
styl : +2

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small to average, thick, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, marvellously lacing, brown head. Intense dark malty aroma, notes of liquorice and coffee, a touch of soy sauce, dark chocolate syrup, bitter spicy hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly sweet, roasty dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, some liquorice, some port, hints of alcohol; lasting, minimally biting, bitter hoppy finish. Oily texture, minimally lasting-sticky, but generally "cold", "heavy" and "slippery" palate (like fluid mercury).

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(Drinking date: 30 December 2014) Aroma of chocolate, coffee, malts, brown sugar. Really delicious, intense aroma. It looks delicious. Pitchblack beer with a beige creamy layer of foam. The taste is also really delicious. It starts sweet, then you taste chocolate, and then bitterness of coffee. Aftertaste of red berries, and then a coffee-bitterness. The mouthfeel is almost perfect. Medium carbonation and a smooth and silky body. If the carbonation was a bit less, it would have been perfect. Overall, this is a really delicous beer, with a total score of 4.6!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
35.5 cL bottle at home. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice, tar, molasses, some roasted malts, coffee and alcohol. Taste has hard roasted malts, licorice, tar, alcohol and a medium roasty bitter finish. Over medium body, soft carbo. Bit too boozy and roasty for me.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(Dark Horse Plead the 5th Imperial Stout) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 11%
Pitch black colour on the body, small dark brown head with okay retention, leaving a thin film on the surface and light lacing around the glass.
Aroma of milky chocolate, vanilla, chocolate cake, light fruity notes. Smells great.
Taste begins sweet, lots of chocolate, continues with roasted and burnt malts, ash, coal, the chocolate returns, very well hidden alcohol, no way it feels like an 11% beer, vanilla, again some fruity notes, excellent.
Medium thick body, carbonation on just the right levels, sticky on the palate.
Great beer, worths every cent.
