COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It's big and full bodied with lots of roasted malts and balanced with heavy hops to put this imperial in a league of its own.
Previously known as Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

On tap at Matt the Miller’s in Grandview. Plead the 5th Imperial stout is a deep blackish brew with just a hint of brown at the edges. Nose is rich with dark chocolate and roasted black coffee notes. The texture is silky and very apparent on first sip. Taste is rich and malty with dark chocolate over very smooth hops. Finish is good dark chocolate bitters that linger a while. excellent imperial stout.

Bottle thanks to trade with jdb288! Pours a motor oil black with thin bubbly tan head. Aroma and taste are big on the roast, some nice dark chocolate, boozy back end. Thick and viscous, nicely done, booze heavy for me but good.

Bottle shared with Vestergaard. Pours black with a thin dark mocca head. Aromas of slight booze, caramel and toffee. Taste is coffee, licorice, sweet dark berries, roast, light chocolate. Sadly a bit thin body.

Black pour. A slim layer of tan bubbles that are quick to disappear. A fruity aroma mixed with chocolate and coffee notes. Taste is chocolate and roasted grain. A little heat but not overpowering.

Bottle poured into a tulip -- Opaque black with zero bubbles. Aroma is roast and malt. Flavor follows suit nicely, rounded out with some strong hops to keep the roast from overpowering. The roast is very strong and presented nicely. This is a very nice Impy.

355 mL bottle. Pours thick and black, with a decent head. It is an IS that is flawless without being exceptional. It would be a good one to have around if one of your friends asks, "Hey, what does an imperial stout taste like?"

Un collet qui fuit rapidement, des ton de sauce soya dans une mare chocolaté, un corps qui s’aminci une fois les bulles retirés. Pas le monstre décadent auquel je m’attendais.

Bottle - Dark chocolate and cocoa. Jet black with a decent brown head. Chocolate and cocoa, with a light bitterness. Rich mouthfeel and nice.

Jet black like motor oil, almost no head but some lacing. Very full mouth feel. Lots of chocolate flavor and aroma. Pretty smooth and balanced, just a wee bit of bitterness on finish. Some reviewers note the hopiness, perhaps the slight bitterness I noticed was the hops, however I found it very well balanced and smooth. A nice Imperial Stout. Curios about what the bourbon barrel version adds. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours motor oil black with very little brown head. Amazing taste that drinks very smooth. Lots of flavor very complex. Can't wait to try the bourbon barrel version
