A light ale made with 100% real raspberries in every batch. The rasberries give this beer a fruity aroma while keeping the beer balanced in taste. The raspberry flavor is not "oversweet" or "overpowering". We believe our beers should be "beer 1st,fruit 2nd".

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2006 Amber color with a slight raspberry lemonade-type tint to it. Aroma is not that great. Raspberries are there, but surrounded by a bit of a bitter/sour aroma that I’m not sure about. Given my hestitations with the scents, the flavor isn’t that bad. Not perfect, but the raspberries don’t kill it, there is no horrendous sour flavors, etc. The aftertaste is decidedly sour and probably a low note. The raspberry adds a complexity that the beer really needs... without it it would be totally unremarkable. With the berries it is tollerable, but still a little lackluster.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with Sully, thanks Mike!) This is seemingly another run of the mill raspberry beer that comes across as having fake, artificial raspberry flavor. The fruit is more muted in this raspberry beer than most others. It’s lightly sweet with a moderate tartness and a pale malt base that’s barely perceptible. The moderately sweet nose seems more authentically raspberry than the flavor, and it’s strong enough to push aside whatever aromas the malt might have. Light-medium bodied. Medium-dark amber and fairly hazy, there are no carbonation bubbles rising through the beer to help keep the head alive. The off-white head needed assistance because it poured small and very fizzy, and by now, all that is left are a few small bubbles along the edge of the glass. One of those "tried it, it’s okay, next please" fruit beers.

Bottle, orange-yellow in color, cloudy, very little white head. Noticeable raspberry aroma, although raspberry flavor was not too strong. Tasted some malt, a touch of tart, and a touch of bitter hops. I expected a little more raspberry flavor to come through besides the aroma

courtesy of SuIIy. Pours a very cloudy amber/brown body with a whitish head. Medium rasberry aroma. Flavors are mostly rasberries and a little malt with a tart finish. Defiately a summer beer.

Pours a reddish gold color with very little head that leaves a very small ring, and there’s almost no lacing. Smell; mild raspberries, a little orange peel in there with only a tiny bit of a hop presence. Taste; tart raspberries are there, but they’re mild and not overwhelming, a bit of oranges, and just a touch of hops in the finish. It’s a fairly light and refreshing beer that I think would have been much better during the summer.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light amber/red color with a foamy off white head. Head recedes to leave a small film on top of the body. Nose is fruity, raspberries mostly (imagine that) but also a tart, cranberry like scent. Taste is fizzy, a little dry chalky, some light raspberries, quite plain actually, not much going on at all. I beleive this is pretty young, seemed bottle conditioned, might need some age to thicken up and gain some quality characteristics. Just not what I was hoping for.

Draft at Dark Horse. Hazy amber color with moderate white head that diminished quickly. Moderate raspberry aroma. Medium sweet raspberry flavor with a long tart finish. Interesting brew, just not my style.

Cloudy amber with big, mostly lasting head. Aroma is of tart raspberries. Flavor is mostly raspberries with some malt. Lively carbonation tingles the tongue. Short, dry finish.

Another sample from the Labor Day gathering. Too carbonated is the fist impression. Once the head subsides there is a nice golden color. Aroma comes off a raspberry and then ale, and there isnt much of the latter. Flavor is really overshot by the carbonation. Maybe this could sit out for a week it could be palatable.
