COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A light ale made with 100% real raspberries in every batch. The rasberries give this beer a fruity aroma while keeping the beer balanced in taste. The raspberry flavor is not "oversweet" or "overpowering". We believe our beers should be "beer 1st,fruit 2nd".

Bought a 12 FL OZ bottle of this from Donnieís Homespun Pizza in Decatur, IL for $4. Poured from the Bright Red/Green/Black Labeled bottle into a 16oz Stone IPA Pint Glass. Had no freshness date on the bottle. Aroma- Big sweetness and light raspberries make up this nose. Candied and very seducing. Appearance- Pours no head at all... Hmm. Carbonation or date issues? No lacing is left either. The body is a dark and deep orange color. Flavor- Has an upfront sweet flavor and then breaks into an average wheat flavor. Raspberry flavor was dry and well hidden... No hops or bitterness at the finish. Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, High Carbonation, and has a slight raspberry finish. Better then the flavor! Overall Impression- A decent fruit beer by Dark Horse but expected much more from these guys! It could have been an outdated brew but who knows without the B.O.D. Average when it comes down to it.

12oz bottle shared. Pours a cloudy orange color no head to speak of. Aroma of malt and a very mild raspberry with some wheat. Flavor is malt wheat and a mild raspberry feature. Not a great beer but drinkable for the most part.

Heard about Dark Horse Brewing from FB in my home state MI and wanted to try them out. Great color, not bad aroma, great taste. Even loved the floating raspberries they put in the beer.

bottle, aroma is light malt toast and pine with a touch of berry. Taste is similar, a light pale with a touch of berry, not memorable

I really enjoyed this beer, but it almost got overwhelming the more I drank of it. Can definitely taste the raspberry in it, and itís good for those who donít drink a lot of beer, like myself. Like I said, very flavorful and sweet at first, not hoppy, and very smooth.

From bottle. Pours a hazy honey color with a small white head. Aroma of raspberry and fruits. Taste is mildly sweet, fruits, raspberries, some caramel. Medium mouthfeel.

While I respect the notion of letting the raspberry tones take a back seat to the ale, they seem downplayed to the point of being watered down. Iím okay with an ingredient being subtle but not when that ingredient is raspberry in a beer called Raspberry Ale. Aside from that, the dominant properties of the ale itself just doesnít deliver a lot of flavor or aroma. Itís not a bad ale, but itís an underwhelming brew that doesnít live up to the Dark Horse standard.

Poured from 12 fl oz bottle. Cloudy golden yellow-orange with dissipating off-white head. Aroma has some raspberry and yeast. Taste same with some biscuity malt. Light-medium body. Finishes a little bit dry. Raspberry flavour is fairly muted, balance is okay. Middle of the road as far as raspberry ales go in my opinion.
