Very tasty indeed. On tap at Hawthornes in Philly. Pours a very dark brown with a tint of red. The head is thick and dense. The aroma has a lot of raspberry in it. Very wine like. Sweet and inviting. The flavor has a lot of raspberry in it as well along with a malty backbone. Not really a very good summer beer, made more for sipping. Wait until after dark or have it with dessert.

had on draft at dark horse brewery. solid brownish color with tan head. the aroma was of raspberry and chocolate....i picked up on that faster than the raspberry. but as i sipped on it definite push for the berry. for me this would be a great beer on a cool night but in the heat of summer i’d opt for something else...shame i couldnt get a growler of this anyways...the maltiness and the chocolate hold this beer together and it’s very good.

Draft in Snifter at the Dark Horse brew pub. Pours an opaque black with a big dark brown head. Big raspberry aroma. Tastes like rasbberry also, but don’t want to make it sound too fruity. To me it was definitely like a stout in feel. Plenty of chocolate malts. Good lacing. The bartender told me this was closer to 14% and I won’t doubt it because I could feel the alcohol right away although it was pretty drinkable for something that strong. I continue to be amazed at the great beers that come out of this brewery

tap at hopcat. black body with medium beige head. big stout characteristics. seriously is like a chocolate covered raspberry...lots of roasted malt..great stuff

On tap at HopCat, Grand Rapids. Deep opaque brown body, thin tan head. Looks like a stout with reddish highlights. Super-sweet nose with raspberry, sugars, and warming alcohol. Intense, fruity body, dominated by raspberry, with unfermented sugars and prickly alcohol. A rich, slow sipper, a tad rough.
