From notes. Finally getting around to adding beers from the Ypsi Summer Beerfest! Enjoyed on July 25. The pour is a hazy orange-ish red color with a thin off white head and no real lace going on. The aroma is actually a little lacking. I was hoping I would get more orange and a great citrus blast, but it’s just not here. The flavor is a little more citrusy and carries a bit of a wheat character to it. I shouldn’t be surprised based on how the Raspberry turned out. The mouth feel is a little bit light, but there is a bit of carbonation and some great crisp tart citrus and an awesome dryness. The aftertaste lingers nicely and carries that light dry citrus finish.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden orange color with a small, disappearing off white head. The aroma and flavor have slightly tart citrus, blood orange, sweet malts, vanilla, almost no bitterness to speak of, the nose is very light, flavor was better.

Draft to pint at Dutch’s. Looks solid; malty though. A hazy orange somewhere in shade between apricot and burnt. Off-white head that steadily dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells pretty bland; a bit of sweetness from the malt and some soft orange notes. Tastes like it smells with a fuller but smooth mouthfeel. Not bad, but a lot softer than I was expecting. What I’d envision as an imperial Belgian wit with some pale malt in the mix as well.

Pint on tap at Dutch’s. Hazy red orange color. Thin off-white head. Some loose bits of lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, lightly soft, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Great light tart taste, moderate hoppy bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Nice mix of citrusy hop, grapefruit, mild raspberry like flavors. Nice spicy tingly hop flavor in the finish. Hint of vanilla. Great refreshing blood orange pale ale. Great one to pair with my Trout BLT lunch.

Tap at DH...orangey pour with small white lace I tasted raspberry more than orange - the blood I would have to say. Real good fruit beer...nicely fruity, but not overwhelming - well balanced and de-lish.

Draft sample at DH. Poured a hazy dark copper color with an average ceeamy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus and sweet fruit aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium citrus sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where surpassed.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Tap: Opaque brown-copper body, lighter amber near top and bottom. Creamy eggshell head, a lace ring or two is left behind. Aroma is juicy, spicy orange flesh and orange peel. Slightly sugary, Pez candy like, a bit of wheat, too? Taste is wheaty, tastes like a fruited wheat beer... Need to confirm. Hint of orange zest, not as strong as I’d like it. Kind if normal orange, not much "blood" orange. Very mild tartness mid palate that fades to a dry, wheat finish. Light toasty malt, too. Thin, crisp mouth feel. Decent at first, but the orange vibrancy grows with warmth & beer gets better. Pretty nice fruited ale by the end of the glass.
