Our Reserve Special Black Bier is a full bodied ale. Each batch is brewed with heavy roasted and chocolate malts to give this beer its unique flavors of coffee and chocolate. The color of this beer is black, and when pured into a glass it will have a deep brown head of foam.

Dark horse is an awesome brewery. This beer has a nice mix of chocolate and coffee. Taste is light coffee, hints of chocolate and a nice malty mild- bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber/brown with small tan head. Aroma is dark malts, dark chocolate, roasty and some raisins. Taste is dark chocolate, that fades out in a really dry coffee roastiness and too some bitter from the hops. Relatively light body. All the way through its loaded with liquorice. Chocolate stays in the mouth for a long time.

330ml bottle served in an English pint. A: Pours a deep black color forming a big and very bubbled brown head. Medium to low retention forming some lingering thin lacings in the glass. S: Strong notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Strong notes of wood and earth. Sweet and biscuity nose. Reminds an Oreo biscuit. Grassy hops. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Again, strong notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. In overall, a dry and bitter taste. Notes of leather, wood and earth. Bitter end. Grassy hops profile. Great! M:Medium body. Low carbonation. Bitter roasted aftertaste. O: Great drinkability. J.U.S.T excellent Porter!

Pours the color of ink with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet with a hint of alcohol. Taste is hoppy like a black IPA. Finally a decent beer from Dark Horse.

Bottle of 33cl. Nice stout, but one of the worst Iíve tasted. Got a nice dark colour (so a nice appearance), nice palate but got a faste, slightly taste of chocolate and coffee. Try it if itís free, but donít pay for it.

Bottle from Embrouille, thanks! Roasted, tart pumpernikel bread coupled with softer notes of dark chocolate and coffee. A light whiff of hops and some heated (not burned) wood, like in a sauna. Full bodied, starting off malty and getting more coffeeish and woody in the finish. I feel the roast is a bit over the top though, giving the beer more tartness than it needs and accounting for the rather rough mouthfeel. I prefer my big beers more mellow.
