Feb 12, 2009 Bottle. This one will surprise you. Pours a thin, black with little to no head. Smell is not overwhelming or indicitive of the huge flavor. This porter is full of burnt coffee and chocolate taste. Great thin, clean finish from a huge robust porter. One of the better, and stronger, porters.

Pours black. Aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, dark malts. Flavors of malt, grain, chocolate and coffee. Normal mouthfeel. Overall a pretty good one.

Jan 28, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours opaque black with a brown head. Nice creamy aroma with chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Solid flavor, with notes of chocolate, coffee, and a bit of creaminess, but not comparable to the aroma. Perhaps a little thinner than the aroma led me to expect, but this is a solid porter.

Jan 21, 2009 Updated: Feb 28, 200912oz bottle. Deep opaque black color with a minimal rusty orange head. Mild, sweet dark chocolate malt aroma. Medium bodied and very smooth, this is a great Black Ale. Full of Chocolate and Roasted Malt flavors, maybe a touch of coffee. Minimal hops as per style. Hides the alcohol tremendously well, seems like it could be 5%. Recommended, especially if you are into the dark side of beers.
