Aug 9, 2009 Very dark, strong dark tan creamy dense head. Strongly burnt grain aroma with a little twinge of sour green apple. Medium bodied, more burnt grain with some toasted almond, dry finish.

Jul 25, 2009 I had this on tap at MBGSF 09. I guess there was something wrong with the tapper, so I didn’t have to give up a token up for it. It definitely was black, with a huge brown bubbly head (probably from the bad tap). It had a really light aroma, a tiny bit of roasted coffee but minimal at that. Very light flavor, watery mouth feel and no prominent flavors. It was very mild.

Jul 22, 2009 This one poured a dark dark brown color with a normal sized light tan head. Aroma was very burnt and roasted. Flavor was also very roasted, not as much silkiness and chocolate as i would have hoped from this porter, but nonetheless a good beer.

Jul 16, 2009 Pours dark black with a small brown head that quickly fades. Aroma of roasted malt and some citrus. Starts off with flavors of vanilla, malts and chocolate and finishes off with burnt coffee and hops. Fairly thin body Not bad. Interesting beer.

Jul 16, 2009 The label doesn’t say porter, it doesn’t say anything. I was hoping I was buying a strong ale. So when I realized I had a porter on my hands I was instantly dissapointed since I’m not a porter/stout fan. I tried a couple of sips. Super rich, thick powerfulbodied. Dark horse might want to put the make on the label next time.

Jul 7, 2009 Holy crap this is some nice porter. Pours a deep black with a smallish dark tan head that eventually fades to a long lasting espresso swirl style head. The aroma is at first very strong with vanilla some roasty notes almost a peaty character finished with a strong hazelnut aroma. The flavor is a little vanilla at first that fades away right quick then it is very dry and bitter, strongly roasty with some great coffee tones, plenty of molasses and a nice little nuttiness and raisin in the background. Complex and awesome.
