Bottle. Pours a dark, dark brown with a super thin tan head. You can hear the fizziness as the carbonation releases. Very rich super malty aroma of milk chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor has a strong roast character with a bitter dark chocolate and cofffee finish. Very nice, this is not over powering but the flavors are all vibrant. Full creamy feel.

On tap @ Dark Horse. I had this beer after the Fore Smoked Stout and I liked this one much better. Pours black with a brown head. Roasted chocolate malt with some dark fruit. A touch of coffee and a little bit of bitterness. I enjoyed it.

bottle. Aroma is malt with notes of sweet coffee and chocolate but subtle. Nice average sized tan head that mostly diminished and left ok lace. Black hue. Flavor is sweet and malty with a lingering finish. Palate is full bodied and oily smooth. Pretty big for a porter but average overall.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm, 2 Oct 2009) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, strong black coffee and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit, liquorice and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Slightly above medium body, with some sweetness. Very nice porter.

Pours opaque black with a mocha colored, dense head that struggles out of solution. The inch-tall foam sank slowly, leaving behind a thick wall of clingy lace. Traces of mahogany luminescence around the edges. Aromatics start off with dark chocolate, espresso, roasted malts, and cocoa. Brownie batter and a hint of nougat follow through. Full bodied, thick and chewy, with a very creamy mouthfeel. Bitter chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and brownie bits lead off the pallet. A drying acridity follows through along with some warming alcohol. Finishes with burnt brownie ends, bitter chocolate, and lingering roast. Tasting like something between a big Imperial Porter and a small Imperial Stout.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown black with a tan head. Strong nose on this one roast coffee, licorice, fruit, and alcohol. Roast chocolate flavors similar to the nose a bitter sweetness and the lingering flavor of dry coffee beans. Tasty brew.

Bottle from pepsican. Thanks dude! Aroma of dark bittersweet chocolate and a ton of roast and a minute amount of dark fruit. Pours black with a brown head and great lacing. Initial flavor is of bittersweet chocolate. That is followed by a ton of roasted and burn malts that almost give it a light smokey effect. The hops are earthy and round this one out nicely. Smooth with a lingering roasty effect. Really freaking good. I want more of this stuff.

Pours black with small tan head. Big chocolate malt and nutty aroma. NICE!!! Flavor is quite bitter. Malts, chocolate, roasted nuts. Also a little hop bite. Good stuff.
