Aroma: smoke, dark malts, dirt/earthiness, tobacco, some mustiness, and old milk
Appearance: very dark brown, tan head, some lacing
Flavor: cigarette ashtray taste, some cream, some semi-sweet chocolate, some tree bark, earthiness, smokiness
Palate: smooth, slight bubbly, some smokey semi-sweet chocolate aftertaste
Overall: not a bad beer, the ashtray flavor is not very appealing though.

12-oz. bottle from artusory. Pours dark black, near opaque, with a tiny tan head that clings to the edges. Aroma is dark and sweet chocolate and caramel malts, yeast (leather), charcoal, coffee. Moderately bitter and acidic dark chocolate and coffee flavor, slight smokiness, finish is sour. Dark bodied and smooth dry palate.

a bit too bitter in flavor for me. it’s pretty close to a weaker imperial stout. beautiful elegent appearance. aroma is pretty terrific, but the taste is just a bit too bitter and empty (otherwise) for me.

Bottle Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Deep roasted aroma with some slightly sour notes. Flavor is slightly burnt malts, dakr purble grapes and black currants. Very smooth slick feel, very soft carbonation and a long bitter, smokey, slightly acidic trailor. Thanks drewbeerme for this one

Bottled
Opaque pitch black, no head. Heavy roasted, coffeish malty nose. Flat mouthfeel. Dark chocolaty, coffee beans flavor. Roasted aftertaste. Nice, balanced mouthfeel. This is really chocolaty and coffeish without being too roasted or burned. Not alcoholic at all. Delicious.

Dark black pour with tan head that kind of lingers for awhile. Aroma big on roasted malt, chocolate, as well as coffee and caramel. Flavor lets the hop presence in a bit, but mostly the big roast and chocolate seem to stick to the taste buds. Rock solid entry from Dark Horse.

thanks to Heemer77 for the bottle. looks like used motor oil as I pour this bad boy into my glass. aromas and flavors of deep, dark roasted malt, dark molasses, coffee and a bitter, not quite bittersweet, finish. medium mouthfeel, yet it coats the tongue with the bitter roasted coffee finish. not quite sweet enough for my taste but still a very well done porter.
