Opaque pitch black, no head. Heavy roasted, coffeish malty nose. Flat mouthfeel. Dark chocolaty, coffee beans flavor. Roasted aftertaste. Nice, balanced mouthfeel. This is really chocolaty and coffeish without being too roasted or burned. Not alcoholic at all. Delicious. Dough77 (780), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2005 Dark black pour with tan head that kind of lingers for awhile. Aroma big on roasted malt, chocolate, as well as coffee and caramel. Flavor lets the hop presence in a bit, but mostly the big roast and chocolate seem to stick to the taste buds. Rock solid entry from Dark Horse. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
