Pours dark, with a small tan head. Aroma is not overpowering. Taste is smoky, a lot of flavor for a porter. It leans more to the smoky than the creamy, thicker than it appears. A very good porter.

Dark brown color with beige head, good lacing. Smell is dark coffee, dark chocolate. A bit chalky. Taste is the same, really really dry with hints of coffee, chalk and chocolate. I like dry, but this is too dry for a porter. Feels like powder in your mouth. Not easy to drink.

Nice aroma of bittersweet malts and sweet chocolate. Very smooth, rich and oily. Fairly intense bitterness but well balanced by the sweetness of the chocolate.

Appearance is very dark, almost black, a half finger beige frothy head. Aroma- smoky, leather, dark chocolate, fudge, creamy malt, molasses, chocolate cake, sultanas, vanilla. Taste- bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, roast malt, burnt toast, treacle, dark chocolate Hob Nobs. Quite a long, bitter finish, not that full in the mouth. Good stuff.

Wow! This is a VERY good brew. I’ve heard this refered too as a black IPA...its not. It’s more like a porter with a little more hop bitterness...but barely. Nose is roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Very full body with a chewy mouthfeel. Bittersweet hop and dark coffee aftertaste. Very unique....very tasty!
