Why is the Grim Reaper holding a mailbox? Well, that mailbox is from a dead Dark Horse beer. The Grim Reaper better know as "Death" was quite fond of our classic Sapient Summer Wheat Ale. When we changed it into a Belgian Style Triple, Death thought it would only be appropriate to bring something from that beer into this beer. So he picked the mailbox, and we weren’t about to argue with him. You can say what you want about him, but that Death sure has a big heart. So anyway...we brewed this beer with a Trappist yeast strain so it is very traditional. The flavors are incredibly complex with notes of mild fruit and finishes with a bit of clove. Although this beer is higher in alcohol it is very smooth and finishes dry on the palate.

I picked up floral and spice notes in the aroma. Wheat, slight fruit, spiciness on the taste and finishes dry and boozy. Average Tripel.

Dark and hazy pour. Has a sweet and spicy aroma. It had a mix of spiciness, alcohol, and cloves. The cloves really dominate, and left a harsh after taste. Not for me...

Not too much scent or head, Taste was better than expected especially for the alcohol%! Tastes like a pretty good Belgian, fruity and wheaty. Nothing absolutely amazing but really good for the price and percentage

Bottle to glass pours a muddy dark golden color, not very attractive. Taste is fruit that seems a bit off. Medium body that carries the alcohol pretty well. An OK beer but not too special.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of oranges, apricots, honeyed dough, cloves. A bit sticky. Wow, heaps of cloves in the taste, not just at the end. Coriander and banana too - all a bit much. There’s some pleasant honeyed dough, citrus and apricot there too and the spices are less harsh as it warms.
