COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Why is the Grim Reaper holding a mailbox? Well, that mailbox is from a dead Dark Horse beer. The Grim Reaper better know as "Death" was quite fond of our classic Sapient Summer Wheat Ale. When we changed it into a Belgian Style Triple, Death thought it would only be appropriate to bring something from that beer into this beer. So he picked the mailbox, and we weren’t about to argue with him. You can say what you want about him, but that Death sure has a big heart. So anyway...we brewed this beer with a Trappist yeast strain so it is very traditional. The flavors are incredibly complex with notes of mild fruit and finishes with a bit of clove. Although this beer is higher in alcohol it is very smooth and finishes dry on the palate.

Flaske delt med Børge på Cardinal okt-13: denne hesten lukter stall og svette. Kort svettskum. Anonym smak med litt gjær og sødme. Heldigvis på tilbud.

12oz into a boulevard stemmed 25cl glass. A very murky, shady type of brew here, pours musky bottom of a lake with mixed sand abound gross brown. No lasting head and then a thin rim around the glass. No date on bottle as to when it was brewed, but Im thinking is aged a bit, as there is no freshness pop or glowing color. Aroma is sour fruit, murky water and melon. Taste is dark belgain, almost retro fitted for a dirty release. But it grows on me, the subtle fruit offerings are fun and balance the blahness and the easy drinkability is quite reassuring. There is also a spice flare that comes about, pepper, clove and rosemary, but faint rosemary, thats cool. The abv is masked quite well. A fun beer to change the pace with.

Tastes skunky, sweet, and stale. Quite bitter, but not in a good way. Missing the complexity of most triples. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Amber, cloudy, small, nearly non-existent head. Powerful clove, spice flavors. Thick, slightly sweet on the palate. Brewer description says high alcohol content doesn’t impact flavor, but it does. Not a positive factor. A very innovative brew, but not one I would seek out for repeated drinking.
