kiefdog (731), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 26, 2008 12oz bottle from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a dark caramel golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and caramely with notes of toasted malt, pears, apples, cider, and spice. Flavor is sweet and malty with caramel and toffee notes, honey, candied apples, hints of spice. Generally medium body with a sweet and fruity finish. JMerritt (1140), Macomb, Illinois, USA Dec 23, 2008 Slightly cloudy orange, small white head. Lemon/orange peel & brown sugar aroma. Heavily spiced, I could really only pinpoint nutmeg and coriander. Earthy finish. A touch thin bodied. Still, a rather solid tripel. jezmez68 (295), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Dec 10, 2008 The spices in this are very nice, and make it a bit more distinct than your average trippel. The beer didnt seem as lightcolored as other Trippels. The yeast strain was very full of the monk basement nose, and the flavor was clovey, and wheatlike. Totally recommended. stankenk (90), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA Nov 21, 2008 On tap at the Gnome - Pours golden with thin white head with some lacing. The nose isn’t very strong. Comes across the palate as bananas, clove, and sugars. Nice sweetness that gives way to a spicy finish. The cloves make the finish a little unsettling. Another Dark Horse brew that has yet to disappoint. tsetlock (22), Livonia, Michigan, USA Nov 20, 2008 Had on draft @ Dark Horse in Marshall, MI. A golden pour. Thin, white head, with some lacing. Aroma is nice, with banana notes and some spice. Flavor also has hints of bananas, clove, and sugars. Nice sweetness that gives way to a spicy finish. A decent beverage.
