COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Horse Sapient Trip Ale aged in a new oak barrel with hibiscus. Underwent three additional fermentations on wood: candi sugar, honey and palm sugar. ABV is unmeasured but surely in excess of 10% as the base beer was 9 and additional fermentations may have pushed it to 13-14%.

EBF 2010 Session One: Hazy copper pour with an off white film of head. Unique aroma- vegetal notes with an agave plant note. Slightly buttery (not diacetyl). Light body. Oaky flavor with some agave notes and vegetal presence. A hint of caramel comes through. Slightly boody, but surprisingly this sample was drier than the original Trip Ale.
