3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Reno’s East, East Lansing. Cloudy orange body, a tad darker than the Amarillo version; thin dense off-white head. Citrusy nose with flower petals. Sharper body than the Amarillo, with tangerine/tangelo, grapefruit rind and pulp, and hints of lemon. Sharper finish too, with some biting acidity. Solid.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of grapefruit and citrus with a hint of dankness underlying bread notes. Flavor has some bitter grapefruit with a bit of citrus and a backbone of deep sweet grains.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
I had this one sitting on the sidewalk at Hawthornes during a Philly Beer Week event featuring the Dark Horse beers and the brewer. This is a take on the Crooked Tree IPA. I think it may have been brewed with some Nelson Sauvin hops because the aroma was quite fruity. Excellent beer especially for the summer.
