COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those of you who don't know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykarate.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

this bottle is over a year old so im goin to rate again when i get ahold of a fresh batch. pours dark dark reddish brown with lots of yeast debris, small off white head. Aroma is very leathery from the age, lots of caramel malt, dries figs and some raisin. Taste is very malty, lots of caramel, raisins, leather, a bit smokey, and a sweet bready flavor, like a sweet hawaiian roll. Good brew but id like to rate it fresh.

355ml bottle. For 9.7% alco this one is surprisingly non alcohol dominant, smooth, easy drinkable (that’s the catch!) Pours hazel nut deep hazy brown with small beige-yellowish cap, but foam stamina is long lasting, minimal lacing. Aroma - sweet malty, dark fruity, pine, yeasty a lot, seems a bit wooden too, no alcohol. Flavor - sweetish malty, far away notes of toasted malt or light chocolate something, a bit spicy and astringent on tongue. Something between Belgian and English strong ales. Yeasty and piney. Medium bodied, soft velvet texture, minimal dry so as finish, pleasantly soft astringent mouthfeel. Very pleasant brew, very well, balanced, chill-out bouquet. Not high rating from me cause it could me more multifaceted.

Pours dark ruby with a small cream colored head. Aroma of malt and some spice, caramel, and dark fruits. Low carbonation and slick mouthfeel, on the heavy side. Burnt toffee flavor, some scotch, oats, hint of spice. Bitterness and some chocolate. Overall a bit bland on my tastebuds but not bad.

Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer

Nocturne (383) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2013
355ml bottle. Dark amber with thin ring of head. Very nice aroma with peaty malt featuring prominently. Smoked ham and buttery toffee notes too, and faintly fruity in a way. Carbonation seems high. The finish is nice and smokey, but what comes before it isn’t as interesting or distinctive. Decent overall but the taste profile could’ve been better.
