COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those of you who donít know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykaratetime.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

Rated 4/3/13. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy dark brown color. The head is a one finger offwhite shade with a soft-looking creaminess to it. Retention is decent given the strength, and thereís a bit of lacing left behind, too. S: Big caramel here unsurprisingly. Thereís also an impressive dark fruit note here that I find enticing. Other notes of brown sugar, molasses, and toffee abound. T: Strong tones of caramel, toffee, and brown sugar open the flavor profile up, with light smokiness and plum-like sweetness building up on the finish. The big problem isnít whatís here...itís what isnít here. While most certainly well made, it lacks in interesting qualities that could have made it great; nor is it particularly complex. The alcohol is hidden superbly, though. M: Relatively thick, rich, and sweet on the palate, appropriately for the style. Carbonation is only prevalent when allowed to focus on the tongue. O: Itís pretty good, yeah, but itís missing something - such as the vague stout-like qualities of Old Chub or the drinkable complexity of Dirty Bastard. As such, itís hard to recommend over those two.

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, bread, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate, roasted malts and smoke.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ruby/dark brown beer with a slight/medium beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, nuts, dried fruit and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, roasted malts and smoke.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Amazing amount of malts and the beer is still extremely complex and balanced despite this.

On tap at RCBW 2016. Hazy, brownish colour. Modest white head. Berries, notes of caramel, bread, sourness in the aroma. Sour, bit bready, bit caramelly beginning. Sweet and caramelly in the middle. Quite sweet finish. Low carbonated, rather medium bodied, quite bizarre brew. Too sweet.

Butelka. Barwa ciemno brunatna. Piana biała, niska, szybko opadająca. Aromat bardzo przyjemny bogaty i złożony. Karmel, owoce (jabłko, żurawina). Smak zdecydowanie karmelowy, żurawina oraz posmaki przypominające cięższe trunki. Goryczka niska, wysycenie średnie punktowe. Pełne, treściwe. Alkohol genialnie przykryty. Jest to moje pierwsze piwo w stylu "Scotch Ale". Zdecydowanie warte uwagi piwo jaki i styl piwny.

Bottle from Pi-Bar. Feels like the Coca-Cola of beer. Dark, sweet, thick, viscous. Still distinct scotch. Lots of carbonation, not as warming as others. High drinkability, smooth texture. Very nice.

12 oz. on tap at Federal. Dark brown with a ring and spots of cream. Nose of dark toffee, a bit of earthy leaf, apple and dried grass. Flavor is more of the same great mix plus some chocolate and graham cracker. Medium-heavy body has smooth low-medium carbonation and a definite dessert beer slant, but still highly drinkable.

Bottle. Paired with wrath of khan. Red-brown pour with small ring of bubbles. Caramel, cardboard, toffee, and dark fruit on nose. Sweet; simple. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Overall: okay.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Reddish pour with a quick lasting head. The aroma has a definite cracker or more precisely Graham Cracker note with dark malts, a ripe fruit note, vanilla, and a low hop profile. Missing the Peat character that I like in Scotch ales. Light to medium body. The taste is a step up from the aroma with a focus on the caramel and toffee and vanilla malt sweetness, Mild to moderate bitterness to finish. The vanilla put me off a touch.

Dark, almost opaque color. 1/2 inch tan head recedes quickly leaving little/no lacing. Dark fruit aroma, smokey, some chocolate or caramel perhaps. Thick mouth feel. Smooth and creamy. Dark fruit and sweet malts in the initial taste, with some very mild bitterness in the middle and aftertaste with an earthy finish. Overall, fruity, Smokey, mild and malty. Just the barest hint of booze.
