For those of you who don’t know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykaratetime.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

Pours a deep copper w/ tan head. Taste is heavy on malt, caramel and somewhat bready. Slightly bitter finish. Meh...certainly not my fave from Dark Horse.

Cinnamon, figs, dry fruit. Bit of medicinal flavoring there to round it out. Preated and slightly smoked malt are highlighted. Alcohol is in your face but not overwhelming. Nice!

Pours a very dark brown with a bit of a crimson hue. Off-white head starts out fairly high and falls somewhat quickly into a nice cap and collar. Some spotty lacing on the edges of the glass. The nose is pretty sweet with quite a bit of caramel and some dark fruits. A bit of a smoked character there as well. The peated malt really comes through quite a bit more in the taste. Some dryness in the finish; almost woody. Slight bitterness.

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, bread, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate, roasted malts and smoke.

Turbid/opaque ruby/dark brown beer with a slight/medium beige head.

Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, nuts, dried fruit and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, roasted malts and smoke.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Amazing amount of malts and the beer is still extremely complex and balanced despite this.

On tap at RCBW 2016. Hazy, brownish colour. Modest white head. Berries, notes of caramel, bread, sourness in the aroma. Sour, bit bready, bit caramelly beginning. Sweet and caramelly in the middle. Quite sweet finish. Low carbonated, rather medium bodied, quite bizarre brew. Too sweet.

Butelka. Barwa ciemno brunatna. Piana biała, niska, szybko opadająca. Aromat bardzo przyjemny bogaty i złożony. Karmel, owoce (jabłko, żurawina). Smak zdecydowanie karmelowy, żurawina oraz posmaki przypominające cięższe trunki. Goryczka niska, wysycenie średnie punktowe. Pełne, treściwe. Alkohol genialnie przykryty. Jest to moje pierwsze piwo w stylu "Scotch Ale". Zdecydowanie warte uwagi piwo jaki i styl piwny.

Bottle from Pi-Bar. Feels like the Coca-Cola of beer. Dark, sweet, thick, viscous. Still distinct scotch. Lots of carbonation, not as warming as others. High drinkability, smooth texture. Very nice.
