For those of you who don’t know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykaratetime.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

Nice golden color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of floral/fruit hops, citrus, & spice. Flavor of slight sweet malt, spicy hops, citrus, and some caramel; Finish is slightly bitter; Overall, more of a strong pale ale - but very enjoyable.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass a dark brown amber with a light beige head. Aroma is sweet smoke. Flavor is caramelized wood with mild hops covered in breaded candy. Defintely some booziness here. A nice mix of flavor.

Wow, I have used Rate Beer as reference for years, yet never rated. Not sure about a lofty, dreamy description. Unless it has issues or surprising pronounced character, the number say it. A little sweet. A bit bit boozy. I prefer aged at least 6-9 months. Still a solid beer

Bottle->tulip. Dark brown with thick lite tan head. A: sweet malt, caramel apple, spices, dark fruit. T: caramel apple, toffee malt, notes of banana and metal on the finish. Pretty good, but the aftertaste gets old. And keep the banana out of my beer.

Bottle. Dark reddish-brown with a moderate, short-lived beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and dark fruits. Medium body and low carbonation. Sweet with hints of plums/prunes balanced by a little bitterness and smokey flavor. Nice beer overall.
