Commercial Description:
For those of you who don't know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykarate.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

Pours a very hazy murky brown color with some carbonation leading to a good, creamy tan head. Muted aromas of Caramel and sweet malts with hints of yeast. Disappointed at the subtlty of the aroma. Sweet caramel flavor with dark fruits and an extremely well balanced citrus hoppiness and roasted malts in the finish. Not an overly sweet Scottish with the hops balancing very well. This beer is so smooth to drink. The unexpected hoppiness leaves you wanting more. Serving type: on-tap

bottle. Smells of old coffee and hand soap with a touch of peat.Taste is that of smoke, peat, caramel, and soap. alcohol is hidden pretty well, palate is ultra sweet and quite sticky. Somewhat cloying. a hair better than meh.

Darker brown with a big & sweet aroma that features lots of caramel, candy, and molasses in the nose. Flavor is excessively sweet with lots of ripe raisin, molasses, dark & sugary bread. Nice to try, but a bit out of whack - lots of sweetness that goes nowhere.

12oz bottle from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a dark brown to black color with reddish highlights. Thin off-white head that settles quickly. Aroma is rich and malty with notes of candy sugar, molasses, sweet chocolate, maple syrup. Flavor is also rich and malty with candy sugar, molasses, maple syrup and dark chocolate overtones. Medium to full body with a pleasing sweet and syrupy finish.

12 oz bottle, pours a dark brown, with red hues when held up to the light. Tan head that mostly dissipates. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, brown sugar, and smoke. Tastes malty, smokey, with a hint of chocolate and brown sugar. No real hop bite to speak of. Alcohol sneaks up on you. Overall, very good scotch ale.
