Pours a hazy red copper with a little frothy head and no lace. Big syrupy sticky body. Aroma is peat, peat, and mild toffee. Flavor is sticky sweet. Not wild about this one.

On tap @ Setka Pub, Poznań. Pours slightly hazy dark ruby and brown with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops. Sweet, fruity flavour, with notes of malt, lozenges and alcohol. Bitter, metallic aftertaste. Rather disturbing but drinkable. My rating #2400.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is a deep dark crimson, a bit hazy, thin off-white head which diminishes quickly. Smell is sweet fruit, toffee, caramel, butterscotch. Taste has a good caramel sweetness, some cherry and plum flavor, and a surprising hop bitterness. Definitely has some alcohol kick on the way down. Decent wee heavy, I think the taste may catch up to the nose as it ages.

Growler to pint glass pours rich dark brown with medium head. Taste is malt, caramel and more malt. Smooth and rich with just a hint of hop at the end and goes down entirely too easily. Well worth having.

355 ml bottle from Cervezalandia, Spain. Poured a dark amber color with a slight off-white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee and some earthy hops. Taste was the same, with maybe some liquorice and some dark fruits. Aftertaste was pretty long and very sweet. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.

Pours reddish dark brown and visibly carbonated. Pfat and foamy off-white head that slowly bubbles out leaving lacing. Aroma is raisins, dirt and malt. Wonderful creamy mouthfeel with lower carbonation than expected. Taste is roasted chocolate malts, darkfruits, toffee, oak. Taste is very front-loaded with the backend all rich chocolate malts. Amazingly, almost no hint of alcohol. Scary drinkable for a beer this potent.

12oz bottle poured into a Dogfish Head signature glass. Poured a nice amberish color. Not a big head and is disappearing as I type. My nose is about a foot away from the glass and I could really smell the aroma of a scotch ale, mmmm. from close up it has a sweet scotch ale smell, still some head left and staying around now. A sweet tasting ale with a little bitter after taste which is okay. No real taste of alcohol which is strange considering its 9.75%. I’m sure after a couple more tonight it will show itself for what it is. Not real thick but its a good scotch ale that I will enjoy the rest of the night.

In short: a buttery ale.
Pours hazy copper, with nice creamy off white head. Some head retention, good lacing. Malty, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla and toffee aromas. Medium body, silky texture, soft carbonation. Taste is sweet, liquorice, caramel, toffee, burnt sugar, ripe fruit, butter. Very smooth and balanced, alcohol well integrated. Nice one.
