3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a rich orange copper color with very little head. The aroma is of straight pine and mild citrus hops. The flavor is very piney with floral tones and finishes dry with a citrus pine bitterness. However lacks depth in the flavor and finish

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice deep copper and light bronze body with a brown glow and a thick, three centimetre tall deep copper head. Aroma of malt, alcohol, resin, pine, caramel and a touch of toast and light rye grain. Medium-bodied; Assertive rye and oatmeal flavours with a good pine and tropical fruit hoppiness and a smooth honey and syrup sweetness on the finish. Aftertaste shows a lot of hops with some alcohol coming through and a good balance of malt. Overall, a nice beer with less hops than I was expecting, and more malt - especially the style of malt. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-May-2015 for US$11,49/six pack, sampled at home in Washington a few hours before leaving to go back home to Detroit and grab more beer from the great state of Michigan on 23-July-2015.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
For my 2000 rating i decided to rate this beer. I was utterly suprised by the aroma of hops and hemp. The pour was big and bold with a lot of off white head and a darkness. Palate was very sticky and resiny but the taste was super intense and balanced by the alcohol.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pine and resin aroma. Brown colored body with a light haze. Bold bitter bite with a mild spice malt balance. The resin quality follows on the palate. Mild sweet character. Mild mellow finish for something. Like this one more with each mouth full.

Tap at mellow mushroom new Albany. Nose is stank hop. Smooth and a bit sweet. Strong floral notes. Decent but wouldn't keep going back to this.

This beer has a terrible name and that makes me want to hate it even though it is a tolerably decent IIPA. It’s very cloudy orange w/ a tight-bubbled white head. I’d say this is pretty down the middle for the style, which works just fine for me. There is only a touch of sweetness and the hop character is all woody pine with a touch of citrus. I am always wrong when I try to guess hops but this seems like a straight classic American C-hop kind of thing to me. It finishes w/ a touch of tea leaves and firm, citrus-rind bitterness. I have had a million beers that are basically better or worse examples of exactly this but this is about as solid as they come. I’d but it again and I don’t say that often about this style anymore.
