An extremely hoppy ale, that really does smell like weed.

Pours a rich orange copper color with very little head. The aroma is of straight pine and mild citrus hops. The flavor is very piney with floral tones and finishes dry with a citrus pine bitterness. However lacks depth in the flavor and finish

Double IPA with a beautiful deep coppery amber colour, clear but slightly hazy with deposit, vivid sparkling and dense, creamy, lacing, egg white head. Strong and very inviting, yet assertive aroma of hemp, dried lime peel, pink grapefruit, juniper berries, pine resin, soap, bitter honey, candied orange, sundried tomatoes, wormwood, apple cake, vermouth, gin, biscuit, wet hay, cured meat and cigarette tobacco. Very fruity, vivid, sparkling onset, peach, pineapple, lots and lots of grapefruit from the first sip, medium carbo, smooth, slick and a bit oily mouthfeel ensuring a (dangerously) high drinkability, caramelly and nutty malt sweetishness, ending in a very long and dry, spicy, peppery and - needless to say - utterly citrussy and ’grapefruity’ hop bitterness, attacking the throat but nevertheless remaining gentle and aromatic, thus allowing for complementary malt sweetness to come through; a late and deep, gin-like, warming alcohol effect is there, but in all the alcohol remains well hidden. Though I tend to associate IPAs and DIPAs more with sunny weather, this is a fantastic winter warmer on Christmas Eve. Another splendid hop-laden American beer which indeed smells a lot of weed, as is stated above (but weed and hops being in the same plant family, this comes as no surprise). A treat for true hopheads.

Slight cloud on a amber/red pour. Short soapy head. Nose of juicy tropical hop. Raisins, Grapefruit, Peaches. Sweet nose very minimal booze. Really marvelous. Despite being essentially told to smell this brew, you’d be pleased with the fresh fruity florals of the hops. Wouldn’t say it smells a lot like weed. Not nearly as antiseptic as expected. Buttery pie crusty malts. Quite bitter. Good mouthfeel. Mineral oil. Lots of sweet hop acidity. Carbonation is soft. This crosses a lot of boundaries. Definitely a IIPA, but carries nuances of being a British Strong Ale/Barleywine with American Hops. Finish is clean with loads of lemon drop candies.

Really good suds. Appearance is long lasting off white head, lace, &da clear medium amber color. Aroma is hop weedy malt hints of oak & spice. Flavor’s like aroma, with carbonic tang , perfect amount of bittersweet, although something a bit off in the finish. Great body. Killer beer in any case.

Bottle, 0.355l. Cloudy amber brown color with medium creamy off-white head and fair lacing. Aroma of passion fruit, lychee, dried fruits, caramel and toasted malt. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt with dried fruity sweetness, follows by refreshing fruitiness, moderate astringency, warming mouthfeel and heavy bitter finish. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Rich and nicely balanced double IPA with well hidden alcohol...

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2014 Almost brown colour, dark orange. Nose with cherry and oak. Taste interesting but very pleasant to me, not very fizzy. I am thinking that I might not be a fan of American IPAs in the end...

Flaska delad med JanVah på Queens Head. Härliga fruktiga doften av mango och ananas. Bra sötma och ännu bättre beska. Bra Dipa.

På flaska bra Queens Head. Mörk brun färg. Doftar som en sommaräng. En perfekt smak av söt honung som rundas av sv en beska och sötms som kommer tillbaka.

Tap. Pours hazy amber with a short lived white head. I have a cold so no aroma. :-( Taste is of malt, caramel, hops, lots of ripe lighter fruits - like grapes and peach. Lots of citrus notes too. Full body and high carbonation. Very dry and bitter. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at oasis. From notes. Citrus and resinous pine hops dominate. Decent caramel and toffee backbone. Nice.
