3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 HonkeyBra (2281) - Lemont, USA - AUG 19, 2011
On tap at the GTMW 2011. Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is quite like weed, but very hoppy and dank. I heard a lot of people complaining it didn’t smell like weed. Well, as long as it smells good and is a good IPA I could care less. Flavor has a strong hop component. Mostly dank and resiny hops with a mild sweet caramel malt note. Medium bodied, great to drink. This is a good beer. Not a knock out IPA but a quite nice entry from Dark Horse.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 slimchill (981) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 7, 2012
Draught. Big hop aroma. Juicy citrus and light pine. Cloudy orange, not much head but nice lacing. Sweet fruit flavors. Citrus but also cherries and maybe mango. Mild bitterness, much more late hop character. medium-heavy bodied but very drinkable.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Silphium (2718) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Fiery medium orange body, thin to medium clumping cream head with good lacing. Sticky, resinous nose, catty and herbal with citrus rind and tropical fruit. Sweet body with bright tropical fruit, mostly papaya and tangerines, also herbal bitterness and hints of alcohol. Excellent beer.

Tap @ Dark Horse. Slightly darkish orange with a cream colored head. Mild weed, moderate piney, fairly citrusy hoppy aroma. Orange creamy, grapefruit, piney citrusy hoppy flavor with a citrusy finish. I enjoyed the Crooked Tree a little better.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 arkurzynski (848) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 14, 2011
Tipsy Cow Friday night pre-GTMW. Amber-gold. Fairly generic hop aroma, certainly does not live up to the name - mostly light grapefruit and floral hops. Present, but again, fairly generic hop flavor and bitterness with a decent malt/caramel backbone. Finishes clean with some residual bitterness. Good, drinkable beer, but nothing to get excited about.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JMFG (1584) - Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2011
On tap @ Tipsy Cow, GTMW 2011. Slightly cloudy golden color, thin even white head. Hoppy aroma, but not particularly weed-like. Taste was pretty astringent on the back end, but not horrible. Just okay.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 jacobman (5) - Michigan, USA - AUG 5, 2011 does not count
The flavors of this beer are very weak. There is a light sweet taste with some hop flavor. The smell is a little floral and grassy. Although, it wasn’t bad to drink, there should almost always a better IPA around, so I will not be getting this again.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hair6a11 (1021) - Illinois, USA - JUL 24, 2011
Growler from the brewpub; pour is murky dark golden with a frothy, big bubbled beige head that retains on the average side. Light, spotty lacing in this glass. Dank, piney, grapefruit rinds, and caramel on the nose. The flavor profile is obviously hop heavy; pine needles, grapefruit rinds, caramel, apple skins. Ultimately bittier, slightly sweet, and..... bitter.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 cpetrone84 (719) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 12, 2010
Had on tap at the brewery for the crawfish boil.
A-pours a cloudy dark amber color with a very light tan colored head just a few shades from white.
S-the nose...hmmm...reminiscent of my college days. dank up front, notes of fruity pebbles, herbal grassy hops with much similarity to dried pot.
T-light caramel malt with toasted grains up front, sweet candied cereal, fruity pebbles. the hops are all over this beer, piney, herbal dank hops, very spicy and floral. moderate bitterness in the finish.
M-smooth up front, syrupy, grainy on the back of the tongue. prickly carbonation with a full body feel to it.
D-very tasty, very good IPA. inetersting hop flavors to be so dank with an assertive bitterness and decent malt base.
