I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tan head. Taste dark chocolate, fruit, roasted malt. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.

Pretty mediocre porter. Itís nice... Just boring. Shine toasty notes throughout with hints of coffee and chocolate. Thatís about it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a fairly complex porter, that disguises each note until the beer warms up. Chocolate malts and brown sugar/molasses forward. Dark fruit and anise notes come out in the back end. Think of a dried fruit covered in bakerís chocolate. Thin in body yet creamy in mouthfeel - toes the line between porter and stout quite well. The 7% is not overly noticeable here.

One of the best porters around. Great roasted, malty character with hints of dark chocolate and coffee.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin, just barely covering the top as a light brown glow. Aroma of raisins, figs, earth, caramel, nuts and a good deal of vanilla. Medium-bodied; Very rich nutty flavour with a subdued molasses and caramelised sugar flavour and some more flavourful prunes, raisins and even chocolate flavours finishing off the flavours. Aftertaste is nice with a light grain and malt flavour, some raisin and fig sweetness and a good light oak and vanilla dryness at the end. Overall, a nice porter - no strings attached, good for the style and in general as an all-around beer. I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington a bit more than a year later on 23-August-2014.
