[Bottle] Wow, this one sure changed as it warmed. Started out really bland and forgettable, but after sitting for awhile it became quite enjoyable. Anise up front which then melds into roasted malt and some chocolate for a lasting finish. Nothing crazy or incredibly unique; just a very solid porter. Aroma is pretty restrained, even after warming--dusty, slight alcohol, anise, and mild smoke. Fairly thin, long finish. Overall, a really nice porter that I’m glad I gave a chance to warm up.

Nice dark color and appealing aroma. Flavor is light and not that heavy. I would say it is okay.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft shared by Ms. phaleslu at Holy Grale. Pours a deep brown color with a small beige head that leaves spots in the glass. Aroma of toasted malts, light roast, nuts, chocolate, and earth. Flavor of dark chocolate, molasses, anise, earth, nuts, tobacco, and faint dark fruits. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, earthy, rich, semi-spicy mouthfeel. Good porter with more complexity than the nose lets on.

smaken zijn die van chocolade, koffie, gebr- en geroosterde mouten, matig zoet, matig bitter, toch wat dun van textuur.
matige body, vrij dun, glad en zacht
goede gladde zachte maar iets té dunne porter

Tap. Near black with small head. A little bit of alcohol warmth. Pretty generic porter with some chocolate, average or maybe a bit below average.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Really dreadful looking label and a daft name to boot. Dark brown pour with a meek tan head. Traces of roast, malts, dark fruit and choc in the beak. Similar elements unfurled in the sweetish taste with some hops chipping in. Decent smooth fullish mouthfeel. Actually a very drinkable porter that has plenty of character.
