Very malty smell. Dark dark black pour with little head. Mmm, nice smokey taste. Easy in the taste puds. Lots if roasty malts. I like it.

(bottle 14/11-2013) Low beige head, black color, roasted aroma, medium co2, a bit too high co2 for my taste, fit body, rather smooth roasted taste. BB date 01.03.2015 (drikkeriget).

330ml bottle
tasted with Reserve Special Black Ale
Pours deep reddish, beige-creamy thick top. On nose - at the beginning some milky touch, dark malt with far away candy sweetness, some dark berries seems too. Taste is medium OK, light sweet with average roast or burnt bitter. Sharp mouthfeel seems. There is some coffee like burnt malt hints in flavor. Palate - dry finish, average astringent, medium+ carbonation, medium bodied, a bit slick, oily texture, burnt bitter aftertaste. Seems unbalanced for me, so no more unless for free :) A little berries-fruity in overall flavor.

Bottle from Save On. "A richly malty ale, with clear characteristics of dark chocolate and black malt, and hints of black licorice, ale fruitiness, and molasses in the finish." Rarely does the "commercial description" actually nail the beer for me, but this one does. I’ll add that it has some roastiness in the nose and up front but I like my porters more bitter and dry. and the mouthfeel is a little slick for my tastes. But still this is quite good and surprisingly rich.

Idiosynkrasie (3593) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 6, 2013
355ml bottle. Ruby red glowing darkest brown colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate, dark bread, some treacle, a touch of liquorice. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet dark malty, some treacle, some chocolate, dry hoppy overtones; lasting, dry, slightly roasty finish with a touch of liquorice.

olio (5856) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 30, 2013
355 ml bottle.
Pours deep dark red, almost black color with a small off-white head. Aroma is chocolaty and malty, some cocoa and dark fruit notes also, caramel and hints of licorice on the background, subtle hints of rye also. Flavor has also lots of chocolate and cocoa powder, caramel malts and mild wooden notes appear also. Soft carbonation, a bit dry, malty and milk chocolaty palate, creamy sweet finish. Very tasty.

Bottle. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a thin whispy off-white head. Aroma is rich, chocolatey and sweet. Nice roast malt flavor with a dry somewhat bitter finish. Dryness dominates this quaffable dark beer. Moderate carbonation with a flavorful roast finish.

lusikka (5955) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 25, 2013
355 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small head, which fades quickly. Aroma of salty licorice, molasses and raisins. Rich flavour of roasted malts, salty licorice, some soy sauce tiramisu, dark chocolate and rather sweet raisiny notes. Full bodied, oily and thick mouthfeel with a roasty, lingering, sweet finish. It’s like drinking oil.
