Bottle, forgot where, possibly La Atlantica’ Bottle Shop, Satiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. Consumed in Frank (camper) Camping Memling, Brugge, 5th December 2014. Pours dark chestnut brown with ruby glints, soft and a little creamy in mouth. A little roasty with a dark fruit tanginess a dab of spent watery coffee granules. This retains a good bite throughout, quite a good porter. Just looking forward to some Coquelle St Jaques not sure that this is what I would describe as a great match but we’ll see. Bottle. Dark black pour with tan head. Aroma brought notes of cocoa, roast, hints of dark coffee and slight caramel as well in there. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, roast, coffee and caramel, nice cocoa powder as well, slight nuts, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter. The ABV is hidden well.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a very dark brown with a khaki head of a smallish size that leaves some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is roasty and a touch ashy with some sweeter chocolate notes and a little bit of woodiness.

The flavor is enjoyably fruity and chocolaty without taking a lot of liberty with sweetness. It’s got a nice medium level of roasty bitterness & a light piney hoppiness.

Nicely balanced porter, and one that I’m surprised is @ such high boost.
