Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a very dark brown with a khaki head of a smallish size that leaves some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is roasty and a touch ashy with some sweeter chocolate notes and a little bit of woodiness.

The flavor is enjoyably fruity and chocolaty without taking a lot of liberty with sweetness. Itís got a nice medium level of roasty bitterness & a light piney hoppiness.

Nicely balanced porter, and one that Iím surprised is @ such high boost.

This is a fairly complex porter, that disguises each note until the beer warms up. Chocolate malts and brown sugar/molasses forward. Dark fruit and anise notes come out in the back end. Think of a dried fruit covered in bakerís chocolate. Thin in body yet creamy in mouthfeel - toes the line between porter and stout quite well. The 7% is not overly noticeable here.
