Poured a deep, dark brown, with no real head to speak of. Aroma was some good roasted malt with just a hint of sweetness. While it was smooth, the taste was just off a bit. Low carbonation, as well. Disappointing, as most of their other brews have been above average. I’ll stick with their "One".

Another one courtesy of Skyview. Black color with no head. To me, the aroma is closest to a dark fruit Creme Saver, like cherry. Earthy and leathery taste. Sweet? No. Tasty? Yes.

I liked the "One" better. This has a very malty aroma with roasted grain. Flavor is sweet malt, and very earthy with clay and dirt. Well balanced, very smooth palate and easy to drink. Low carbonation. Quite good.

12-oz. Thanks, SecretSanta! Pours a watery opaque black without a head. No lace, either. Light nose--just some perfumey licorice and a bit of char. Maybe blueberry? Watery body, flat, some ashy, almost ash-tray, business throughout the mid-palate. Seems almost like they mixed up the 2, 3, and 4 here...got elements of fruit and smoke there too. Bit disappointed given the reception this beer’s gotten elsewhere.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing! Pours a dark dark brow with a sweet chocolate nose. Light coffee flavor flavor with a smooth finish.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Riley’s Wines of the World in Madison, WI. Pours an opaque motor oil black brew with hardly a tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, caramel, some coffee, and a touch of vanilla. Taste is sweet, a little acidic and a touch of bitterness. Finish is medium body, soft carbonation and bitter aftertaste.

pours an absolute black color with little or no head. The taste is remarkably smooth. There is a burnish smell possible of molasses. For not being a stout lover, this one was pretty good.

From a 12oz Bottle. Purchased at Riley’s Wines of the World in Madison, WI. Sampled immediately after One. Pours a dark black, completely opaque color with a thin layer of quickly dissipating filmy toasted marshmellow head. A gentle swirl sends a myriad of fine bubbles shimmering to the surface. Very rich dark malt base that’s dripping with loads of chocolates and coffee. Some softer, fruitier notes of raisins and charred molasses add some richness. Similar minty hop and coffee/chocolate character as with One, but the molasses chracter and softly sweet smoke are what really differentiate Too. Medium light mouthfeel with a subtle carbonation. Definitely needs more carbonation to help lighten up the palate some and add the namesake creaminess. Flavors are a bit less impressive than the nose, but are solid none-the-less. Chocolates and coffee’s abound up front, but these give way to some juicy dark prune and chocolate syrup. A bit of very subtle smokey and tobacco-ish characters linger on the back-end. Flavors are a bit less interesting to me than with the One. Well constructed overall, with no real off traits other than the light carbonation, which isn’t severe.

Poured a very dark brown with only a slight ring of froth. Smell is heavy roasted molasses and some roasted coffee. Taste is pretty much the same. The mouthfeel is somewhat smoky from the roastiness. The mouthfeel is smooth and a little lighter than medium on the mouthfeel. A good beer, but one would be enough. The taste does get a little much after one.

Bottle as pictured poured opaque black with the thinnest creamy brown head I’ve ever seen on any stout. A faint aroma of dry cocoa starts to rise as the brew warms. I drank this creamy concoction right at room temperature. I am a big fan of sweet stouts and this one did NOT disappoint. Mouthfeel was velvety smooth and flowed like Willie Wonka’s chocolate river all over my taste buds! Rich roasty flavors of cocoa and coffee w/heavy cream were savored with each sip. The finish is a lingering chocolate combined with traces of malt that go from dry to bitter for a spendid finale. Quite simply delicious. I want more.
