jbrus (4117), Delft, Netherlands Aug 29, 2008 Bottle@Home. Very strong chocolate and coffee aroma. Very black, brown small head, fair lace. Very sweet, loads of coffee, roasted, light bitter. Medium body, bit dusty. Very flavorful, very drinkable, not exceptional but good. nimbleprop (581), Washington, Washington DC, USA Aug 26, 2008 Scored this in my Secret Santa package. Thanks Saint Nick! 12oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with a thin, slgihtly beige head that settled into a faint ring around the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, toast, licorice, molasses, coffee, brown sugar and slight chocolate. Flavor are similar, toasted, roasted malts at the forefront with only slight coffee (with a cream dimension), licorice and mexican chocolate. Heavy on the palate and creamy. This brew is pitch black color with a medium thin tan head that diminishes quickly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Bold roasted coffee aroma, along with some dark cocoa and malt. Rich and smooth body with roasty and smoky characteristics. Coffee, malt and chocolatey flavors throughout. The finish is cocoa with a nutty chocolate aftertaste.
