UPDATED: DEC 5, 2013 Dark black color with no head and no lacing, just a thick viscous oily deposit sitting in the glass- soon to be my stomach. Aroma seems fainter, but all cocoa coffee malts. Flavor again, malt forward, slight bitterness, vanilla. Very smooth and sweet
2/13/13: (6)(3)(6)(4)(1 black color with small brown head and light oily lacing. Aroma and flavor are packed with nice roasty cocoa with a strong bitter finish. Bottle lists abv at 7.5% which I can’t taste a bit.

Bottle at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured a deep mahogany with a round bubbly tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, sweet caramel, light chocolate. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth earthy malt liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lots going on here!

0.33l bottle. You can’t really call this anything else than jet black. Dark as the darkest chocolate and it has a really good looking medium sized slowly fading away deep espresso colored head. On the one it’s quite roasted and coffee dark. There’s as sweetness too here. Dry deep dark black inky with traces of dark cardboard and cold coffee. I’ll gladly admit that I like this aroma. Yeah, it’s just as roasted in the taste as the aroma had me believe. Dry deep dark coffee intense with burned wood and hazelnuts. Lots and lots of flavor. It feels oily in the mouth and it’s about average on the bubbles. Delicious to nip at even though it’s about 30 degrees here. It’s leaving a really deep dark roasted aftertaste in the mouth this. I quite enjoyed this creation. 14.06.2014

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Pours pitch black with a creamy dark brown head. The look is just wonderful. Smell of dark malts, roast, dark fruits and chocolate. Medium sweet, some toast and ash in the back, a distinct roast, cocoa, hints of espresso coffee, some sweet lactose as well. Moderate bitter finish, earthy hops and roast. Nice stuff, quite complex flavor palate. A must try!
