COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full bodied stout made with all malted barley and blueberry. Flavors of chocolate, roast malt and light blueberry make up the palate with lots of fruity blueberry aroma.

2014 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours black with a really nice brown head that subsides pretty quickly. Very full aroma that comes across as "meaty." Dark malt with some roast, a little cocoa, some blueberry that is sort of acrid. Taste is blueberry and dark malt up front with the roast and bittersweet chocolate in the middle. Settles into a coffee like bitterness on the tongue. Has a strange herbal/berry aftertaste. A medium-full body with a little sting to the mouthfeel. Finishes dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown, almost black with an amazing dark brown head. Aromas of blueberry, like in blueberry pancakes or waffles, lots of roast and sme bitter chocolate/coffee aromas. Slight caramel notes as well. Taste is nice. Comes across roasty with hints of blueberry. Finish is more bitter chocolate. That finish swirls with the blueberry to leave a nice sweet sticky taste on your lips. Body lacks a bit. Medium at best.

Poured a bottle of this into a pilsner glass. Was a deep brown almost black with a medium tan head. Aroma was roared malt with a very light whiff of blueberry. Taste is coffee, roasted malt and a pleasant subtle blueberry. Was expected a full fruity tatted but it is understated who makes it very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Good Dog. Pitch dark purple pour with a tight off-white head, that mostly disappears. I love blueberries but in general hate any blueberry beers, but this one mostly works. Coffee/chocolate/ash/spice stout with dark fruit blueberry alongside. In balance, works surprisingly well. Sweet at first but a nice dry cocoa finish. Deep and rich. Nice.

Bottle 330 ml at home, from Secret Sinterklaas, thanks! Into a snifter. ABV 7.5% Black colour on the body, with a thin brown head. Good retention for its size, a thin line persisting around the glass along with a big foamy island on the surface. Great aroma! Roasted malts and chocolate, together with intense blueberry and light alcohol. The aroma reminds me of some fruity liqueurs we had at home, like mint or kumquat. Taste enhances those memories, at least at first, since it’s quite sweet, with obvious alcohol although relatively low, blueberries are there too, and near the finish the roasted malts appear along with bitter chocolate. Mildly bitter aftertaste with a short duration. Medium body, good carbonation. Overall, and memories brought back aside, a great stout.

Draft at Lost Dog Dunn Loring. Poured a motor oil black, with a small, brown head on top. Aroma is light blueberries, roasted malts. I was a bit skeptical, as a lot of these blueberry beers taste a tad artificial. Aroma was a check for it being okay, so it was so far, so good. Flavor was an initial blast of blueberry - tasting a bit like a blueberry muffin. Later sips were a lot less blueberry in nature, mostly dark, bitter roasted character. Not too bad.
