A full bodied stout made with all malted barley and blueberry. Flavors of chocolate, roast malt and light blueberry make up the palate with lots of fruity blueberry aroma.

Fooled by the label. Was expecting a day at the races with Darkhorse but actually found myself to be the star of a rodeo. The stout proved to be much more of an untamed, strong, swirling, wild black stallion than a smiling, galopping, harmless little poney.Once let loose, you better hold on tight cause you’re in for quite a ride.Open the gates.Inky-black mane,excessive,over-the-top and overwhelming deeply roasted malt teaming up with turkish coffee and darkberries up in the air.Powerful,mouth-coating earthy ground coffee, thick molasses and a nice underlined blueberry fruitiness all leading to a fairly astringent finish. That’s it.You lose your balance.you’re down to the ground.Body bruised, face full of dirt. You feel like a boxer after a Mike Tyson punch.F1 racer hitting the wall at full speed. You get back on your feet, limping, yet wanting more of that stuff. But PsychProf,a nice man who drove to the ranch and provided for the ride is 700 miles away from you which is quite a ride again. That’s too bad.I feel terrible now.

From a bottle, black with very large staying brown head with very fine bubbles. Nose is roasted malts, blueberry, chocolate. burnt toast. Medium to heavy body, soft carbonation, slightly sweet, maybe a hint of earthiness, moderate bitterness in the finish, very creamy, slightly oil. Long roasted malt finish with tons of great blueberry flavor. Easy to drink body is very nice and great flavors, another great stout from Dark Horse.

355 ml. bottle shared by Kraddel @ Rampkrot. ˝ consumed. Thanks. Blackish dark brown, mocha bubbles. Nose is light umami but lots o mocha, sugar & sweet blueberry. More blueberry pulp with brown sugar than the berry on its own. Light bitter roast upfront, touch umami leading to sweet blueberry, brown sugar, lots of mocha, basic chocolate,… Low carb, sweet heavy mocha boby. Drinks really easy. Very nice. Fav. Dark Horse beer so far prob.

Appearance: near black, creamy tan head. Aroma: strong chocolate roast, hint of blueberry and vanilla. Taste: tastes like nothing so much as a chocolate chip blueberry muffin. Finish: roasty, slightly dry, with a nice bit of blueberry must. Notes: The flavor combo isn’t my favorite, but this was extremely well executed. Good palate. Bottle from Total Wine in McLean, VA.

Draft at the Pump House. Very dark with a one finger tan head. Some blueberry and coffee in the aroma. The berry is not tasted as prominently but is there. Coffee, tobacco, and roast. Malts are big. Semi sweet to dry. I like blueberry in a beer and wish it had been bigger. A nice beer.

Opaque black pour a beautiful deep brown head slightly tinged with red. Aroma is little bits of blueberry over roast malts. Delicious on the tongues, the bitter and roasted cocoa powder plays well with the sweet malt and blueberry flavors. Smooth and fairly thick mouthfeel is pleasant and suits the style. Great adjunct stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Beer Market. Huge aroma of blueberry muffins, jet black with minimal head. Surprisingly not as much blueberry when tasted. Flavors of chocolate, roasted malt with subtle blueberry. Very surprised!
