MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured hazy copper color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy fruit, whiskey and citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to moderate duration.

Courtesy of sebletitje. The crystal clear 750mL poured hazy copper with gold hues and thin white head. The aroma is both sour and boozy whiskey as well as some malts and oddly some chocolate mingling with the sour notes. The taste starts a bit tart and sour then heading toward whiskey and oak. All the notes stay pretty light and fresh and ending somewhat dry. Nice stuff with plenty of balance and interest.

Draft at EBF. For so many barrel aged beers, what i feel to be my favorite thing to do with a beer. This was a stand out. Flavor is sweet pear and apples with a nice whiskey background but like a cheep bar drink. Very drinkable with an easy finish.

courtesy of frampin. This one was the Whiskey Richard Lambeak.
clear 750ml bottle.
Pours murky brown, thin white head.
Aroma was boozy and lightly grainy.
Flavor, malty, whiskey is present though not overwhelming, followed by some nice sour notes.
It’s very well balanced the whiskey is mild yet noticeable as is the sour side of this beer. ABV seems to be quite here as well, accompanied by some sourness and fruits. Hints of white grapes.
I am still puzzled as the overall style the beer was supposed to be. I saw it more as a sour. Tasty!

2008 MGB Winter Fest: Muddled brown hue with reddish and golden highlights, small frothy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of caramel covered cherry, light handed funk, oak, vanilla bean, and some herbal esters. The taste is fruity and woody with sweet grains as a base. A hint of whiskey and spice upon the finish. A layer of funk, yeast and sourness throughout the flavor profile. The mouth feel is sharp and aggressive with a tannic dry finish. A neato brew but more a Flemish Sour Ale than a Berliner Weisse for sure. Worth the wait till 3 PM for the un-tapping.

Bottle shared by hoppymeal, thanks! Poued a clear chestnut with a small white head that dissipated quickly and completely. Aroma was a bit boozy with a good amount of sweet grain and caramel and a bit of sourness underlying. Flavor was more sour with sour red fruits coming through. There was a strong grain backing with a bit of booze coming out in the finihs.
