COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No longer the "beige" of the beer world, here is a brown ale that is loaded with taste, that people want to drink! Our Brown Ale has been brewed with the finest Australian malt to produce an untraditional ale (not mild, but wild!) with a smooth malt flavour and a clean finish.

Sweet hop malt aroma with honey & sugar. Murky amber colour over primed head with good lacing. Sweet malt candy flavour. Fizzy palate.

Large frothy head on an amber golden body. Fruit cake in the aroma also in the taste. Not exactly one of my favourite styles and this one doesn’t improve things.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2007 Dark reddish in colour with a thin off-white head. Thin bodied with average to high carbonation. Fruity aroma. Flavour, quite sweet with coffee coming through slightly. Overall was a bit watery but smooth and enjoyable. - (330ml dark brown bottle)

Reddish brown in colour with a light tan head which soon died away. Thin to medium bodied with low carbonation. Sweet roast malts with flavours of boiled fruit cake and a touch of coffee. Quite pleasant but no bitterness to speak off which would have perked it up a bit.

Clear dark amber (light for a brown ale), big rocky head. Loads of pineapple and bready yeast aroma with vanilla and oak. Caramel, aniseed, chocolate malt, slight lactic sourness, metal, red wine and slightly prickly bitterness. Perhaps if they age it another 12 months in oak it’ll come good - at the moment it’s a bit weird. If I was in charge of this brewery I’d try and cultivate this infection (if that’s what it is) and run with it, but I don’t really see this happening.

The label calls this a ’wild’ interpretation of the brown ale style. I did not expect this beer to deliver on that statement... So I was not surprised when it didn’t. Caramel flavour, with light chocolate undertones, a dry crisp, slightly acidic finish. Too thin, lacks character.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2005 <i<Bottled. Nut brown, beige head. Lightly fruity gooseberry aroma. Medium sweet and gently roasty with notes of coffee, lemony licorice and plum brandy. Rounded mouthfeel. It may be a bit thin. Low to medium bitterness. Pretty good beer.
