COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A German Blonde Ale. This beer originated in the city of Koln (Cologne) and is still THE beer of that city. It is a fairly hoppy beer made with 20% wheat malt and 80% barley malt. Its unique flavor separates it from Pale Ales and from Lagers. Ideal serving temperature is 40 deg. F.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2013 Backlog, from notes. On tap @ the brewery, 24 May 2001. After tasting two "sours" (i.e. infected brews) this one was OK. Lots of malt & grain & solidly hopped, which made it better than a German Kölsch.

Blonde gold color, small head. Lighter taste. Slight malt sweetness. Somewhat wheat beer like in character, there is a subtle banana and clove like taste to this beer. Light bodied. Light and refreshing. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is malty and slightly sweet.
